We just returned from a 3 night stay at Anastasia Hotel in Venice. We were very pleased with the room and service. Although, the room was small, it was very well appointed. I've read complaints about the bathroom, however, our bathroom was quite large. My husband who is 6'4" tall had no problems with it at all. The best thing about this hotel is it's location. ..just steps from San Marco Square. We requested a room with the view of the courtyard and a large bathroom and received just that. The only complaint I have is that the bed was uncomfortable as were the pillows. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, and if/when we return to Venice, we would definitely stay at Anastasia again.

“Great Location”

Just got back from a trip to Venice where I stayed at this delightful hotel. The location was excellent (directions given by other tripadvisors was very helpful and made it easy to find) and the staff extremely friendly and all spoke excellent english.

The room I stayed in was not massive but more than adaquete given the price compared to others. The room was very tidy and breakfast was acceptable.

The bathroom was nice although if you are 6ft+ you may find it a tight fit. The bathroom was marble finish and also had a beeday.

All in all a great location with friendly service.

I boked this hotel in Dec and was very disappointed when I arrived. I stayed in room 103. My husband and I are both slim, but still had trouble fitting into the bedroom with ease, just no room to move around at all. The bathroom was totally miniscule!! the whole room was extremely dark and even with all the lights on, it was difficult to see anything. Not much storage space, and overall I was disappointed with what I ended up with as opposed to the photos in the advertisement.

“Excellent experience, highly recommend”

I cannot recommend the Anastasia highly enough. I have absolutely no complaints about it at all!

First, the location is superb. Once you find it, that is! It is about 3-4 minutes from the San Marco Alilaguna stop. Bear in mind you will be dodging and weaving through tourists and up and over 2 bridges to get to the hotel. So pack light!

A directions cheat sheet: Find Harry's Bar once you get off the boat at San Marco (head left off the boat). Harry's Bar is on the corner of Calle Valleresso. Go down Calle Valleresso until you need to turn. Go left. Pass American Express office. Go up and over the next bridge (in front of San Moise Church) and immediately go left past the San Moise Gondola station and head under the arch for Hotel Violino d'Oro. You have to go right at this point, and the next little passageway on the left will take you to the Anastasia.

The hotel itself is tucked away behind another hotel, but once you figure out where it is, it's literally a minute or so to the far end of Piazza San Marco (opposite the basilica). The hotel is situated on a quiet square, so you have none of the noise or foot traffic of the nearby canal or gondola station. There are restaurants nearby and San Marco has plenty to offer in terms of food, shopping and sightseeing. There are two ATMs nearby that I located: one about halfway down Valleresso, tucked into a hole on the left. Another is on the left side of Calle Larga XXII Marzo, which is to the left when you come out past the San Moise gondola station.

The room I had (second floor in front of the elevator) was immaculately clean and absolutely silent (I had my doubts about the elevator). The bathroom is huge -- almost bigger than the bedroom -- clean and comfortable. The room had a tv, minibar, closet and a comfortable bed.

Be sure to figure out how to plug in the mosquito repeller if you're going to sleep with the windows open (which I did in early May).

Breakfast is included in the room price and was wonderful -- juices, yogurt, cereal, cornetto, coffee/tea/chocolate.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

I'd stay here again in heartbeat.

My partner and i stay in the Anastasia Hotel last month. The hotel located in the centre of Venice, only few minutes walk to St. Mark Sq and also next to all designer shops. We really enjoy to stay this hotel and special thanks to reception staff are so friendly with excellent spoken English. The room are not very large but decoration was very nice with the marble bathroom. Breakfast is ok. I found this hotel in the website and i trust tripadvisor review. It's giving me a confidence to book this hotel and luckily never regret. I would definately recommend to all traveller is valued for money to stay this hotel.
