Everything is difficult to find in Venice, but this place proved to be a challenge. Enriquo, the manager made things easy by offering to pick us up at the Rialto water taxi stop. Once you get your bearings, you realize this hotel (essentially a B&B) is in a fantastic location. While it lacks a canal view, the rooms were clean (especially the bathroom) and the included breakfast hits the spot. We had the opportunity to see an upgraded room (+30 Euros) and it was HUGE., very nice, and two stories. Since we were only two people, we opted to stay in the double room.

There is a fun bar just downstairs which gave us a great place to wind down as the dark streets became difficult to navigate. The hotel is also only a 2 minute walk to Piazza San Marco.

Our experience was great, and the staff made it even better.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone for its location and excellent service staff. Only a few minutes walk to St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge, it was nice not to have our feet hurt a lot, especially after loooong walks in Rome and Athens. You can easily drop by the room for a little break or to leave purchases behind. The street is really quiet which was good at night.

The only thing that was not great was finding the hotel (which is why I didn't give it an excellent rating). We were trying to follow the directions on the website and couldn't find the exact street marked Mercurie or the Mossimo sport store. Just remember when looking for the hotel, pass the first "square" (San Salvador) and if you run into San Zulian square and church, you've gone too far. Calle de le Balote (also Calle Ballote) is only a narrow alley across from the Footlocker store (Mossimo is closed).

Despite the initial frustration, we would still stay here again. The staff is really nice and helped us get information on how to catch the next bus to get to Treviso airport for RyanAir. Great hotel!

Let's face it - Venice needs to be walked and explored because it is such a beautiful city. Exploring ones hotel room is, perhaps, appropriate for Ulan Bator (no disrepect to Mongolia) but not appropriate to Venice. Therefore this hotel is perfect in most ways. Such a great location, quiet locale, friendly staff and clean, functional rooms. Now - if you want to swing a cat, forget it (at least my room - I believe there are bigger) because for the money you get a great location, close to the Rialto and St Marks square and somewhere to get your head down but nothing palatial. You do not need palatial in Venice, go look at the piazza's, go eat in the fantastic restaurants, go view the art and the history but don't stress about your hotel. Residenza Ca' San Marco is just what you need (if you can find it)

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was good, clean and we even had a jacuzzi in the bathroom. Breakfast was not so good. 1 croissant, 1 sandwich and a toast that's all.

Hotel is not easy to find. Directions: Get off at the Rialto waterbus stop (you'll be on the southside of the Grand Canal). As soon as you walk off the boat there should be a main street directly ahead of you. Walk down that street for about 200m and you should see the Bata shoe store. Turn right and follow the path until you see a Footlocker on your left. Directly opposite the footlocker is a narrow alleyway that admittedly looks kind of sketchy. Down that alleyway about 50m the hotel enterence is on your right.
We would recommend this hotel to everybody.
