Thought we'd try this place, since everything around it was much more expensive. Although still pricey, you are paying for a very good position in a seemingly very expensive city. Just near Central Station and the main square, the Aris Hotel is definitely not flashy, but not uncomfortable.

Excellent location right behind the Grand Place, surrounded by chocolate shops, cafes and restaurants. Small but adequate bedroom and bathroom with slightly small pillows but sufficient for short stays. Highly recommend hotel based on price and location. Didn't have breakfast but lots of lovely waffle places nearby. Would stay again!

The hotel is very central, only 5min walk from the central rail station.The road to it is cobbles and can play havoc with cases.

We had comfortable rooms on the 5th floor.A drawback was that the roof line intruded into the room and gave limited headspace
(if you are 1m90 this can be a problem and in hindsight we could have asked to change and i am sure they would have assisted).

The rooms were a reasonable size with good bathroom and toiletries.
Even at the top of the building there was noise during the night but it was not too intrusive.

Breakfast was fine with a reasonable selection of dishes on offer.

I would stay here again but in a different room

After trawling Trip Advisor for hotel suggestions, we settled on the Aris because the price was excellent and the location seemed very good. The location was, in fact, superb. A block and a half from the Central Station (which is one stop away from Gare du Midi where the Eurostar terminates), a block from the central plaza and about a 10 minute walk to the Musee des Beaux Arts and 15 from the Sablon district. What more could one want? Fluffier pillows? Just as other reviewers have said, the pillows here are ridiculously thin. We didn't ask for others because we were too tired by the time we finished traipsing through the city. Otherwise, the room was spacious enough and clean with a large-ish and spotless bathroom. We were on the third floor and did not find it noisy at all. The view was pretty spectacular as well. Woke up too late for breakfast (which is not included in the price anymore - it's €8 per person), but that didn't matter - yummy waffles were nearby.

We had dinner at Taverne du Passage in the nearby Galerie de la Reine. Excellent, typical meal (eel and steak tartare, which they call americaine) in a very charming old Europe setting. Very few tourists despite the location, but don't go for the service. It was efficient, but curt in true Brussels style. Gotta love it.
