Stayed here for 3 nights and found it perfectly acceptable.Very clean and a decent breakfast.This is an ideally placed hotel-being approximately halfway between the Midi (south) train station and the Grand Place, for those arrving by train. Took about 15mins walk from the station, with luggage.I wouldn't really class it as 4 star,but perhaps it is by Brussels standards.Certainly no complaints and would recommend it for those arriving/departing by train.

Stayed at this hotel end of July for a couple of days before and after our holiday in Brugge. Hotel was excellent, clean, modern, good situation, breakfast was good. Easy walk from Midi Station where we arrived from airport and then took our connection to/from Brugge. We paid twice the rate at the Brugge hotel but did not feel half as comfortable.

Area might not be the best but we are in our fifties and did not feel threatened in any way even when we returned late at night. We would definately return to this hotel.

We arrived at the Gare du Midi and just walked to the hotel. This took about fifteen minutes or so. The area around the rail station seems a little depressed but not unsafe. The hotel is located about ten minutes walk from the Grand Place, one of the amazing sights and the historical centre of Brussels. Great bars and restaurants plus many artisan shops dot the area.

Overall I would describe the city having a slightly edgy but stylish charm in particular you notice Art Nouveau forms and there is real character in its building facades that echo of a faded empire.

The Floris is a superb and well maintained boutique style hotel. Spacious rooms and excellent tasteful furnishing complete the picture. The breakfast area overlooks a pleasant garden and the food selection is good. The hotel seems to be popular due to its location and positive reviews so book early.
Free wifi connectivity in each room is a bonus whilst the coin operated laundry across the road from the hotel is conveniant. The desk staff have good English, as do most of the population for that matter.

We took a day trip to Antwerp and enjoyed the experience for the shopping and Sunday food market.

A nice hotel in a rather unattractive area.This can be said about a lot of hotels in Brussels since the city is certainly not beautiful. It is however an excellent city to visit.
The hotel is comfortable and modern with a very nice breakfast room. Breakfast itself I would rate as at best average and certainly not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.
Although the area is not particularly appealing it seemed quite safe.
The fact that the top restaurant in Brussels, Comme Chez Soi, is 50m. from the hotel suggests that this is so.There are also a few bars nearby but these are at the lower end of the scale.One of them is just about off the scale.
