I am just back from a wonderful weekend in Lisbon, Portugal. The city was in itself fantastic, and the holiday experience did not get less fabulous by staying at the Hotel Olissippo Oriente! The staff was indeed helpful and polite in all ways, everything was spotless (bathroom, the spacious room, etc). I also really enjoyed the breakfast - everything was tastefully arranged, the food was really good, and there was a variety of choices as to what one would like to eat. The area was clean and lovely, transportation facilities were very good, and the hotel was pleasantly close to the airport - which matters if you have to catch an early flight! All in all: I recommend this hotel to everyone!

I have just arrived from Lisbon where i've stayed at Olissipo Oriente. Excelet staff, well equiped rooms decorated with taste, very good breakfast. It is across the street to Lisbon Casino and a 5 minutes walk from Vasco da Gama shopping and train/metro (at gare do oriente). I will definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed here April 07, its at the '98 Expo site, north of the city on the Tagus which is no problem for the city as train station nearby and taxis are ludicrously cheap. Booke a suite for about £20 extra per night and thoroughly worth it, nice room, clean, new with nice toiletries, flat panel tv's, good furniture etc. Staff friendly and helpful, quality hot and cold buffet breakfast, altogether a nice chic place without either trying too hard or having staff with attitude.
The expo area is on your doorstep and not to be missed........

This is a pretty new hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. I like the location. It is in the new part of Lisbon, 2 blocks from the river and a straight 3km shot from the airport. Good shopping, cinema, some nice restaurants in the area, plus a bus & train terminal. The room was neat and clean, but fairly ordinary, which is why I don't think the place rates the 4 stars it claims. The room had a safe, a mini-bar, and a flat screen TV on the wall, and that was it. No particular charm beyond the lobby. The rooms had internet capability, but there was only 1 public internet station to serve the entire hotel.
