“Do not stay here!”

Melia Athens

We were robbed across the street from the hotel, the hotel is in a terrible neighborhood. The manager of the hotel would not call the police because we were not robbed in the hotel and she suggested we find a policeman ourselves and report the crime. Out of fear for our safety we refused to wonder the streets looking for a police station or police officer. The people that robbed us poised as policeman.
The rooms smell of smoke and the staff is rude.

We deeply regret for this unhappy incident. It is true and wordlwide known that in all capitals and especially in the city centers, there are dishonest people walking around trying to get advantage of foreigner who are not aware of the local lows. When this case was reported to the Hotel, the Manager has followed the procedures as they are in Greece. The Police Officers do not come to investigate cases in any properties if the actual incident did not happen there. The individual has to visit the nearest Police Station, which actually is one block away from the hotel, and make a statement or press charges. We are very sorry that by acting in accordance to the local regulatios it was interpreted as rudeness . We fully understand guest's emotional situation which however has not been occurred due to a mishandling from our part . We would like to reinsure all TripAdvisor members visiting the Residence Georgio that they will all receive our services of high standards and our best of attentions.

“Great Hotel”

An excellent hotel. We booked an above standard room directly with the website and were very impressed. The rooms are beautifully decorated with all ameneties, slippers, internet access, bathrobes, a power shower and jacuzzi. Sound insulation was excellent. Rooftop pool was beautiful. It is slightly out of the way but a 15 minute walk takes you to the centre of everything. Staff was accommodating, holding our luggage on our return trip from a cruise until we flew out that night.

“Nice place to rest and bathe”

After a 14 day cruise that had a small hard bed the Residence was a delight. We booked our room directly with the hotel via internet and had no problems. Took awhile to check in however we got there early in the day (10:00 AM) but they stored our luggage (we had a lot) until our room was ready. After long days on our feet touring Athens the jacuzzi was awesome (great for just soaking your feet too). The jacuzzi is build for two as is the shower :) The maid service was excellent. We were disappointed in the roof top pool - it closed at 6:00 PM, we never did make it to the pool in time to enjoy it. All in all it was a great place to stay.

“Fantastic Hotel”

Melia Athens

This is a modern hotel situated away from the centre of Athens, but close enough to walk or take the Metro. it is a medium sized hotel furnished in a modern style with the guests comfortable appearing to be a prime concern. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The meals were had in the hotel were excellent and not too expensive. The rooms are adequately sized, but the bathroom is a highlight! Book a deluxe room and enjoy a bathroom from heaven! The hotel has a nice pool on the roof where dinner is served in the summer. The views of Athens are excellent. The choice of television channels will satisfy most people and there is a good business centre.

This was our first holiday in Greece and this hotel made the experience unforgetable..

“Nicest Hotel in Athens”

Melia Athens

5 of 5 stars

This is the nicest hotel in Athens. We got a great rate of 99 Euro a night and friends were staying a few blocks away at the Hotel Alexandros for 3 times as much and thought our hotel was a lot better. The rooms are amazing- we had a jacuzzi tub and shower with 7 or 8 shower heads, washing you from all angles. The room was super modern (we couldn't figure out how to flush the toilet or turn on the light for about 15 seconds) and it was super clean. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It's centrally located, but a bit hard to find (even with a map).
I wish the hotels we stayed at all over Europe (which we paid 2 to 3 times as much for) were as nice as this.
Stay here! It's perfect!
