“A Real Bargain in an Expensive City”

Comfort Hotel Stockholm

Sep 6, 2006
3/3 found this review helpful

This hotel often has room deals and I paid for two nights and got a third free via hotels.com. A great bargain it turned out to be. The reasonably central location means you can walk everywhere if your fitness is at least average. I walked to the old town in the day and Stureplan for the nightlife. Pay the little extra for the window in your room unless you're going in the winter when there's no sun. Not much of a view but light is good for keeping your --. Yes rooms are small and the corridor is the longest I have ever seen, but the latter means you're away from the elevator and other guests so it's quiet at night if you ask for a room at the far end. Breakfast really very good for Scandinavia. Hot and cold choices. Free internet in lobby. 100 metres from airport buses so no rip-off taxi needs to be taken to get to your hotel. For the price - impressive.

“Small but convenient”

Comfort Hotel Stockholm

The room was adequate size for one person, but would be very cramped for two. The entire space was maybe 2.3m x 3.3m - which includes the bathroom. If one is looking for luxury and pampering, this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for a convenient location, clean surroundings, free wireless access, an excellent breakfast and pleasant staff, this hotel fits the bill. I would definitely stay here again (if traveling solo). For US travelers, make sure you bring an adaptor. The hotel doesn't carry them, and I wound up walking a good ways and spending a small fortune to get one.

“Great hotel in a central location”

Comfort Hotel Stockholm

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four nights. I cannot fault any part of our stay here. We arrived early and went to the hotel to see if we could check in early. This was no problem and we were checked in, given our keys and allowed to go straight to our room. The member of staff on reception was helpful and friendly.

I'd booked the room knowing that the rooms were small and there was no window and was slightly worried about how small the room would be. Having no window was not a problem as there was a screen with a light behind it by the bed which gave an impression of a window. The room was compact but there was plenty of room to put our stuff.

The hotel room had one bed and a fold down bed. After the first night we both slept together on the bottom bed with no problem.

The hotel had lots of open sitting areas where you could relax if you found the room too small. Reception had free tea, coffee, water and biscuits that you could help yourself to 24 hours a day.

Breakfast was help yourself and was the best I've ever had in a hotel. There was a choice of breads, cheese, pate, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, eggs, pickles as well as local food. Breakfast was from 6.30am to 9.30am which meant we could have breakfast on our last day when we had a 7.20am coach to the airport to catch.

The staff were very helpful. We asked for an iron and were given an iron and mini ironing board.

The location was central, right next to the train and bus station and with easy access to the town and within walking distance of the old town and the local buses.

I would stay at the hotel again as it was clean, comfortable and in an excellent location.

“Crampt but clean”

Comfort Hotel Stockholm

I stayed at the Comfort Hotel with my husband. The room was small, very small! It felt like a cabin on a ship. The shower was very small. However, the room and bathroom were very clean and cleanliness is more important to me than the size of the room. Everything felt new. There are two beds: one is attached to the wall and folds down and the other one is on the floor. I was a little frightened that the cables would break on the suspended bed and my husband would come crashing down on me in the middle of the night but, luckily that didn't happen! My bed was very comfortable. My husband felt a little big for the second bed. Included in the price of our room was a breakfast. I have to say, it was totally above our expectations. In a very nice restaurant setting. They had everything that you could wish for breakfast and it was all fresh and tasty. My only suggestion about this hotel is that, upon check in, ask for a room that's as close to the elevator as possible! We were in room 289 and it was a long long walk down the corridors to get to and from the room to the elevator or stairs. 292 was the last room number. If you can get anything under 265 you won't have a trek to your room. One day we reached the lobby and I realized I had forgotten my sunglasses, I was comtemplating going the whole day without them because I didn't want to have to go all the way back to the room to get them, and it was a very bright sunny day! All in all, a safe, clean, central hotel that was very reasonably priced.

“A perfect -all you could want- hotel”

Considering this hotel was a 'basic' hotel and very cheap it really was fantastic!

Inclusive Breakfasts had a huge variety- maily Swedish style food, but equally experimented with and enjoyed by us Brits!

Although situated by a somewhat loud road the soundproofing prooved it's worth- we couldn't hear a thing!

Couples should not be put off by the 'twin room' statements as the lower bed of the bunk is just about big enough for sharing! ;-)

As with all of Sweden, it was exceptionally clean.

This hotel was about 5 minuets walk away from the center of town.

However- you do get what you pay for- this is a basic hotel and the rooms are teeny! but- still very comfortable and furnishings are practical for the room size, eg- the wardrobe comes down from the ceiling! Old people or those with disabilities may have difficulty in getting into the top bunk!
