This is a great hotel about a 15 minute walk from the central train station. Rooms are clean, quiet and well appointed. The front desk staff is very helpful. Great view of the harbor. 5 minutes to the subway/tram/bus stop.

I've been in this hotel for meeting several times.
For a traveler the location is not perfect. If you are in for business it does not really pay any role where your hoitel is located - as long as it's easy access to where you should alredy be in.
There is a nice market place (Hakaniementori) next to the hotel but it's still on the left (wrong) side of "the bridge" for us from Helsinki. "The Bridge" meaning old Pitkäsilta which in fact is very short. But this hotel is still on the wrong side of the bank. And the being build in early 80's reflects the "conctete brutalism" of the time.
I would prefer a hotel that is much closer to the Central Railway Station i.e. the center of town - and any of the newer or older hotels.
We used this hotel just as an overnight before leaving to Tallinn, so we didn't want to spend a great amount of money, but wanted a luxurious property somewhere in the city. Hilton seemed to be a well regarded establishment, so we chose this one. Upon arrival we were warmly -for a hotel in north Europe- and in no time we received our key cards; we had a business class room on the 6th floor overlooking the East Harbour. The hotel from all the pictures seemed a bit dated, and 70s style. Although this style prevails, the hotel seemed newly refurbished and fresh. The room was nice, spacious with large bay windows, a nice tv, and a small but practical bathroom. Their breakfast was ok, and the restaurant servise efficient, as everything in Finland. Compared to the Kamp Hotel, their reception staff seemed less cold, and more friendly. I can now understand why this property is so highly regarded. The pictures just don't do the place justice.

Business servicei hosted a distributor meeting here for about 30 clients. although a little pricey, we definitely were treated well. i was very impressed with the staff and the organization of the meeting. the only trouble i had was a double charge on my credit card by one of the front desk agents which took 3 months and a bank claim to resolve.
the location is great, within walking distance to many tourist attractions, shopping, and restaurants.
the view is amazing as well. especially from the treadmills in the gym.
the rooms could use a little updating.

Business serviceDelightful stay in a lovely large room overlooking the water. The buffet breakfast had lots of variety, fresh fruits, great breads/rolls, and smoked salmon. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. It was fun to go to the local farmers market and mass transit was only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Quiet,, professionally run, relaxing hotel. Our room had free wi fi, Evian water, little treats, and access to a great sauna. What a great introduction to Helsinki!
