“Spacious rooms and a good location”

Art Hotel

The Arthotel is right in the centre of Andorra, next to the river and a park. It's a modern building, rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Its a 4 star, cost is 130 Euro appx per room. Not the cheapest in the town, but we really appreciated the space, the free Wifi access and the good bathroom. Nice little touches like bathrobes were welcome at the end of a day's shopping ! We ate in their restaurant "Plato" on the first night. Two starters, two mains and a bottle of wine cost us 55 Euros, which we thought was not bad for the quality of what we had. Breakfast buffet was copious, good choice, though busy when we were there.

The shopping is extraordinary, there are almost too many shops! Prices were good compared to France, clothes in Zara for example were 10 - 25% cheaper. There were also lots of outlet stores selling reduced designer clothes.

Andorra town is predominantly shops and you'll find a fair few restaurants tucked away. Prices do vary and we saw chinese, tapas, local Andorran specialities, pizza, pasta etc.

Overall, highly recommended.

“Great Experience at the Art Hotel”

I broght a Ski.com group to the Art Hotel January 2008. I have rarely been so well treated and everyone from our group was in agreement. The staff went far beyond what would be expected or required, the rooms were spacious and very clean, the location was good.

We had plenty of problems (not anything to do with the hotel -- stolen passports in Barcelona and a broken arm skiing) and the hotel staff were not only willing but took the initiative to help at every opportunity.

They also took the time to point out some of the great features of Andorra and especially the Borda restaurants (old farm houses turned to restaurants). These restaurants should not be missed to experience some local "flavor."

As for the Art, I can't imagine there is a hotel in Andorra La Vella or for miles around that could match the Art Hotel.

“Wonderful hotel”

I stayed at the ART Hotel in January 2007. Since I was the trip leader for a group of 22 people the hotel booked my husband and I into the Gaudi Suite. Wow! What a room. It was furnished in the Ikea style. It had a king sized bed. There was a sitting area with a couch, two chairs & a table. There was a separate dinning area with a table & chairs. The TV was on a turntable so it could be viewed from anywhere in the room. There was also a mini-fridge. The marble bathroom was enormous! It had a two person jacuzzi tub, a two basin sink and a separate toilet area. The room looked out over the river & across to the mountains.

Our group had a meal package so we ate breakfast & dinner in the restaurant at the top of the hotel. On the weekends the service was buffet style. The hotel was very crowded on the weekends. During the week there were very few people and we ordered dinner from a menu. The food was outstanding.

Behind the lobby there is a pleasant bar area. there is also internet access in the lobby.

The hotel is within walking distance of a nice grocery store as well as the Caldea spa. The ski slopes are some distance away. The shuttle buses are not reliable.

Elizabeth & Eugenia were both wonderful! They put together several outings for our group. They arranged for the group to take a day trip to Carcassone. They also arranged for the group to have guided tours of Andorra. Elizabeth & Eugenia were extremely helpful. Everyone in the group had a wonderful stay thanks to these two terriffic ladies as well as the rest of the staff at the ART Hotel.

Got a huge room, nice bathroom, free wifi, little box of goodies. OK location - off the main drag.

Used the sauna and super shower which were nice.

Short walk to the bus station.

This hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. Good sized rooms, well stocked with toiletries and some free bottled water in the mini fridge.
We had 2 rooms next to each other 1 for us and 1 for the kids. If you are planning on letting the kids have their own room it is worth requesting an extra key card for their room as you need to leave the card in the room for the electricity to work, our first night we left the kids without a card so we could access their room whilst they were asleep which meant they had no lights overnight (one way to ensure they don't stay up too late reading)

The food in the hotels Plato restaurant was fantastic, not the cheapest as it is a la carte (not over priced either) but well worth the money. The best meal we had all holiday. make sure you leave room for dessert. Refreshing to find a childs menu without chicken nuggets/burgers.
Breakfast was very reasonably priced and a good selection of food was on offer (they even let us take a tray of food to our room for the kids the morning they over slept for breakfast)

If you are planning to visit andorra in the summer do your homework prior to going to find out about places to visit, mountain walk routes etc as the tourist offices only seemed to cater for the needs of skiers visiting andorra which is a shame as the mountains have a lot to offer in the summer if you know where to go.
