“Yuk! Don't let United put you up here!”

Millennium Paris Charles de Gaulle

Our flight from CDG was overbooked and they were asking for volunteers. 2 out of 5 of us had no commitment the next day so we decided to take them up on the deal which included 1 overnight stay along with 3 meals. I have done this before and found it to work out great. United would put you up someplace decent right?

Wrong! First, the shuttle from other hotels in the area come 2 to 3 times as often. We waited quite a while every time we used it.

The lobby was Ok and the staff was OK but I question the desk clerk's savy when he put a woman and a teen girl traveling alone in the fartherest, darkest part of the hall of a relatively empty hotel.

The carpets were dowdy and the halls smelled like smoke even though we requested and granted what was supposed to be a non smoking area.

The room was grubby. A child must have made "steam artwork" in the window and there was stray hair in the bathroom, tub (which backed up when showering) and bed.

We checked out the restaurant since we were offered lunch for free but it was empty and there was absolutely nothing on the lunch menu of interest. The Pub was closed for repairs.

We left for the day and it took much longer to get in to Paris than we had planned. You must take the slow shuttle back to the airport and then pick up the RER train. This line of the train (which we had been using all week with pleasure) went through some questionable neighborhoods and we realized we did not want to be traveling this route too late into the evening.

We came back for dinner to find a still empty dining room with the exact same menu for dinner that was offered for lunch. When we showed them our voucher, he abruptly took those menus ("You don't get to eat THAT!") and gave us a paper with a 3 course offering even more unappetizing than the full menu. We ordered but the food was unappetizing.

I was having difficulty connnecting with the airline and requested simple help from the front desk who was "short" in her responses. She was unhelpful and gave inaccurate advise when pressed.

The bed was uncomfortable and in addition to the noise from the airport, It sounded like someone was pushing furniture across hardwood floor from the floor about about 4:30 -7:30am. Odd since all the hotel was carpeted.

Breakfast was a buffet...you can't spoil cereal and croissants.

We checked out and returned to the airport on a shuttle that apparently did not go to the terminal that they picked us up at. The driver was of no help at all and seemed confused that there was even a Terminal 1.

We were glad to be gone and question our decision to offer our services to United.

“It's fine”

As a stopover from CDG, it's fine.

My big complaint is that I chose this hotel because it had an indoor pool (as well as a fitness center). I was arriving from the Seychelles in the late afternoon, but my flight to the U.S. didn't leave until 3 o'clock the next afternoon so I thought the pool and fitness center would give me something to do to while away the hours between when I got up and when I would have to get to the airport.

Surprise! The pool and fitness center don't open until noon, so were of no use to me. I was surprised that a fitness center wouldn't be open during the morning hours.

On the upside, I was able to take an outside run fairly easily. The nearby park was the nicest part (although I admit I had my radar on-----it had a really lonely feel to it at mid-morning and was absolutely deserted; not what this 50-ish woman looks for when running alone) and after that there were only a few hundred yards on the route I took that I didn't have sidewalk, and so there was virtually no having to contend with traffic.

I should have known enough to stay out of the bar at an airport hotel the night before----7.50 euros for one beer? Highway robbery.

The hotel is within walking distance of the sleepy bedroom-community of Roissy. This affords the opportunity to easily walk to some very decent restaurants and avoid paying the hotel-restaurant prices. I had a light meal at a very nice Chinese restaurant within about a 6 minute walk. There is also a good pizza place, as well as several mid-priced restaurants.

The room is perhaps a bit better than average for an airport hotel. Ditto the bathroom. I kept the curtains closed though as the window overlooked rooftop ventilation equipment.

“Rude, Rude, Rude”

We stayed in this hotel on our last night in France. This is definitly not a 4 star hotel as it is stated. It is very grubby. The carpet throughout the whole hotel is so dirty you don't want to even put your suitcase on it. When we arrived, the clerk at the front desk
was very short and rude to us when checking in. We thought, ok the guy must be having a bad day or something. Later on, we went to the Irish Pub in the hotel for a quick bite to eat. We sat down at a table that needed to be cleaned off. The waiter came to clean it off and take the money off of the table but when we asked him to wipe it he said "no." Because we were so tired we stayed. The food was ok but
they refused to make any modifications. The hotel room linens where yucky and the room was very hot. The air conditioner in the rooms (we
had 3 rooms) were not working so we all had to sleep with our windows
open. If you are a light sleeper forget it you will hear planes landing all night. When we asked the clerk at the desk to explain to us how to get to the Eurocar so that we could return our rental he just pointed and said "go, left, left, right then left." When we asked him to show us on a map (which he refused to give us and then we found one in one of the stands) he said "NO!" I do not recommend this hotel at all. There are plenty of other hotels clustered together in the same area that have to be even a little better than this one. In general, I don't usually complain or write complaints but I feel like that people should be warned about this place. Stay far away!!!!!

“average hotel, worn rooms”

Ok hotel – expect 2 or 3 star room quality. Rooms are small, have been renovated but bathrooms are original (need to be renovated!). Windows are thick, blocks most of airplane sounds. Staff is generally helpful, some more friendly then others. English ok. Restaurant food quality is not bad considering out of Paris city, if restaurant has lots of people, be careful of slow service. Shuttle to airport takes 30 minutes (since need to pick up at other hotels and drop of at various terminals) – make sure which terminal since some shuttles do not go to terminal one. Bed is ok comfort. Linens and towels were worn. Also, mini bar in rooms were broken .. no place to buy water except bar area.
