We just returned from 10 days in France. We rented a car and toured the Normandy area, our last night at Mont St Michel. I had booked Hotel Vert directly with the hotel basing my decision on information that I had read here. I was not expecting a 5 star hotel but something clean and decent. I was not disappointed. As we drove into town we mistakenly stopped at Formule Vert and were redirected to Hotel Vert. The hotel is tucked in just a bit from the road and we just missed seeing the sign as we drove by it.
While my husband parked the car I went in to check into the room. The young woman at the desk gave me the key and told me in French (of which 80% I understood) that I was to go and check out the room to make sure it was acceptable to me. Some confusion must have appeared on my face since she repeated the request in English. All of the receptionists were bilingual which was nice.
The room itself had 2 single beds and 1 double for the four of us. The bed covers looked a bit worn as did the carpet but everything was clean and the bathroom was very adequate and modern looking. A tub and sink were in one room and a separate room for the toilet. A blow dryer was also supplied in the bathroom itself. The floor of the bath was vinyl that gave the appearance of wood flooring. There was no shower curtain in the bathtub area, only a 3 foot area of glass that prevented most of the water from hitting the floor. This was definitely preferable to some of the grungy shower curtains some baths supply.
A television was in a corner of the bedroom high in a corner of the room. The window had no screen and if I had small children would have worried me due to the size of the window. Also a screen would have been nice because of the many, many flying mosquito type insects that were swarming around the hotel.
All in all the hotel was just fine for the price and was more than adequate for us. I would stay there again.
