I cant imagine anyone having bad service at this Hotel. Everyone we encountered at the Arabella was fabulous to us. We actually had a problem checking in during the middle of the night and the hotel just let us check in until we could resolve our credit card crisis. Very kind.

This gorgeous property is set in the Lakes region about an hour from Munich, Germany. The Lake setting is story book beautiful, quiet, serene and elegant. Rooms are comfortable and would suggest a lake side room.

The restaurant in the hotel was 5 star. Excellent local cuisine. We chose to eat there every night if we could. If In Bavaria and need a good base, go with the Alpenhoff.

“Service in restaurant absolutely awful!”

This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting next to a lake.
When we arrived the service was excellent from the porter/bar man and again excellent at reception.

On Saturday night we decided to visit the restaurant again given the poor reception the night before and give the restaurant another chance! However after being given the menu's and watching other people being served after 50 minutes we decided to go inside and try another table. The same waiter then arrived and tried to put us in the same corner in the other room as the night before away from other guests as though we were leper's! After some comments from myself and some other guests he then found us a table closer to other guests and then served us with some drinks and then took our order. We then asked him to have some bread as we had waited so long to be served and unfortunately after a 10 to 15 minutes he did not return with any bread we decided to speak to reception.
We eventually ate in the Italian restaurant downstairs the service could not be faulted and the restaurant manager did take the drinks and starter off the bill.

Next morning we checked out and the receptionist took 20% off our accommodation because she had had several comments from other guests commenting about our experience. Service throughout our stay in the reception and bar area could not be faulted.

The spa is a beautiful relaxing experience however because I believe our nationality affected the attitude and behaviour towards us I would not risk staying there again.

However we had stayed in Le Meridien in Nuremberg the previous 3 nights and several times over the last 6 years and the service there and throughout the hotel was exceptional, could not be faulted.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary at this beautiful lakeside hotel. We are very demanding guests. This hotel met all of our expectations. The suroundings are surreal, the hotel is beautiful and in the local style, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Everyday, they brought a little present to our room. We felt very welcome and special. We had reserved half board and were not dissapointed. The 4 course meal every night was delicious. The spa and swimming pool are lovely. We had one of the best messages ever experienced at a very reasonable price. There are discrete staff everywhere to look after your every need. We would recommend this spot for couples as well as families with children of all ages. The area provides enough activities to keep anybody as busy (or not) as you want.

“Excellent Alpine hotel”

There wasn't much snow last week (18 to 24 Feb 07) but the Arabella Sheraton at Spitzingsee gave us an outstanding skiing holiday. The hotel facilities were excellent, far and away above normal "ski hotel" standards, with a good pool/spa for easing aching muscles after a day on the slopes. The hotel has a garage underneath, so you can get from room to car with minimum fuss, and the drive to the skilifts is only a few minutes.

The hotel has two restaurants, but we only used the Italian one, which had a good daily special and a reasonably priced and good quality a la carte. Particularly impressive was the wine list.

The hotel is located right on the lakeside, and we may well return during the summer as we can imagine that it would also be beautiful then.

“Loved it”

I loved this hotel and want to return soon. We had a huge suite consisting of 1 very large bedroom, 1 smaller bedroom, a living room with a porch and a huge bathroom with separate tub and shower. The rooms were beautiful, very rustic and woody. There were more closets and cupboards than anyone could possibly need on a vacation. We were there during the summer and I think we were the only non-Germans, as far as I could tell.

The spa and swimming pool were magnificent with a beautiful tranquil view of the lake. Had trouble getting the kids out of that heated salted-pool and jacuzzi. The breakfast at the hotel was excellent.
Had lunch once at the hotel and that was not memorable. Don't even remember what I had. The truly good local food is in the smaller hotel across the street, where we had all our dinners.

Very relaxing vacation in nice surroundings.
Can't wait to go back to Spitzingsee.
