As part of a group tour of 60 people,we were put up in the Trend Hotel,we had no choice.
One evening as the group became friendly we decided to order a Pizza Dinner at the hotel.
All we had was cheese,mushroom pizzas for 50 people,Vegetarian spagetti for 10 people and salad (no meat fish or eggs)
with soft drinks n water the bill came to an astounding Swiss Francs 2700 (that is over £1000).
Wow we could have hired individual taxis,gone to town n had the same meal at a lower cost.
The response of the management as expected they cannot do anything wrong.

We stayed here thinking we'd save some money by not staying in Zurich, we wished we had now. Trend Hotel is located in the suburbs in the middle of nowhere about a half hour by train from Zurich, and the train fare from Regensdorf to Zurich is extremely expensive so you end up saving no money at all. We spent more staying here than we would have had we stayed in the heart of Zurich. The food here is also ridiculously priced, the cost to dine here is exorbitant and there's nowhere else in the area so you don't have much of a choice other than to eat here. Also, the staff are rude and indifferent and not willing to be of any help. Their english is limited also which proved difficult. The rooms are large and nicely appointed, although for the room rate which is still quite expensive, this hotel represents no value for money. I would not stay here again.

My family and I stayed in this hotel on 2 occasions in the last 6 months, the first in September last year and then in February this year. We found it to be a really great hotel. It was quiet and very clean which was just what we needed as we were so busy during our stay. We had 2 suites on the first stay which exceeded our expectations as we were expecting standard rooms, and then given a choice of rooms on the second stay. The receptionist actually showed me different rooms to choose from before we finished checking in (and this at midnight when she was about to go off shift!) We opted for rooms with an adjoining door the second time as it was so conveniant. The rooms were great though, comfortable beds, although British guests may not expect a twin room to have only one bed as is the standard in a lot of European hotels. The bathroom had a nice strong shower and a magnified mirror which was great for applying make up!

The staff were fantastic. I think they may be unaccustomed to Scottish families staying with them and we were made very welcome and all the staff endevoured to speak english to us although it wasn't really necessary. It may be because we are unusual guests in quite a corporate hotel that when we returned in Feb we were remembered by almost all the staff!

We chose the Trend hotel because we were visiting relatives locally and it suited our purpose.. I doubt too many tourists use the hotel as it is about half an hour from Zurich itself but I certainly would recommend it to anyone and am actually quite looking forward to going back sometime!
