“A lovely, comfortable experience”

Rusheen Lodge

4 of 5 stars
Cincinnati
May 11, 2008

We stayed at Rusheen Lodge for two nights. Our room had a queen size bed. The room was large enough for the two of us. It had a little type of hallway leading to the bathroom, which was a nice size. This hall had an area to store our suitcases, so they were out of the way. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was quite good. Karen is welcoming to all her guests. She treats you as if she is glad to see you. It is too far to walk to town, but it is an easy drive.

“Asitwas; Idyllic west of Ireland”

Rusheen Lodge, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, Ireland
An absolutely wonderful stay on the west coast of Ireland. Karen McGann and her staff were very friendly and made you most welcome. The suites were equipped to the very highest specification with a comfortable lounge area and two double beds, tea making facilities, TV.etc. plus a substantial bathroom. Nothing was too much trouble for Karen and her staff. Downstairs there was a residents' lounge with SKY TV. Breakfast was individually prepared by Deidre from a well thought out menu plus cereals, juices, fresh fruit and soda bread. We were chauffered into Ballyvaughan for our evening meal and there was plenty of information on the various restaurants, eating places. Everyone was most helpful about places of interest in the area, sports and entertainment plus the wonder of The Burren in the immediate area. Wonderful coastal views were on the doorstep and a visit to the Aran Islands was a must. The local whiskey shop offered an amazing 400 brands of Irish and Scotch whisk(e)ys. Plenty to see and more on offer to justify a return visit.

“cozy spot”

Ballyvaughan is a great location from which to explore the Burren, Clare and Connemara, and this b&b is a comfortable place to stay. The room was large and furnishings comfortable, and the bathroom was also large and very clean and modern. Views over the fields to the Burren limestone hills, and additional skylights allowed plenty of light and air. Breakfasts were very good, and owner Karen and her staff were friendly and helpful. Location is not in town, but close by. Make sure to eat at Monks, a harbor-side restaurant and bar with music.

“Large rooms”

Rusheen Lodge

Jul 25, 2007

Beautiful property, large rooms, nice attention to details. Ballyvaughn is small with just a few shops. Had a delicious dinner at the Hylands Burren Hotel bar.

We stayed at this lovely little B&B for 4 nights while sightingseeing and working in the area. The people running the place were wonderful and very helpful. And the breakfast was wonderfu!

It is a perfect locations for seeing the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Galway and more in the area. We loved the little town of Ballyvaughn where we enjoyed meals at many of the local pubs. It was very relaxing and a place we will come back to!
