We had a 4night stay in a suite consisting of double bedroom overlooking the leafy Quadrangle and a lounge with balcony with views of the playing fields and hills. It is a peaceful location with lovely gardens. Breakfast daily (included in an internet tariff) was a full hot buffet taken in Boffins Restaurant. There is a second licensed cafe for cheap evening meals, but with limited choices, and a bottle shop for purchase of beer, wines and spirits. Public transport runs regularly from a bus-stop a couple of hundred metres from the hotel, but service ceases around 2200hrs. You can travel to any of the famous tourist sites through the transport hub in the city centre, and also to the large shopping malls to the north and south. It is only a short ,pleasant stroll to the Central Canberra area or down to Lake Burley Griffin , Screen and Sound Archives and The Museum of Australia. A taxi from the airport was under AUD$20 although you can take buses and change in the city if you are adventurous. For more than one person would hardly save any $ss. Will definately stay at Uni House on next visit.
