“Great Location!”

Marriott Sydney Harbour at Circular Quay

4 of 5 stars
Modesto, CA
Jan 19, 2008

I never thought I would make it to Sydney, but January found me staying a week at the Marriott at Circular Quay. Despite the unusally rainy weather, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is a block away from the main rail and ferry station on the harbor, and some rooms have views of the Opera House (for $50 extra.) The hotel is walking distance to everywhere: the Harbor, the Opera House, The Rocks (great Saturday and Sunday market there), the Botannical Gardens (check out the thousands of fruit bats hanging from the trees by the tropical plant pyramid), Market Street, the Observatory, the Bridge Walk and many great restaurants. The hotel is a very nice Marriott: atrium lobby, lobby lounge, larger-size rooms, very comfortable and clean, and a nice buffet breakfast. You do have to pay for internet access. And the toilets are the low water kind, which means you have to flush them four times. All in all, though, this is a solid pick if you are staying in Sydney.

“Loved It!”

We really couldn't have asked for a nicer stay in Sydney than what we got at the Marriott Sydney Harbour. It is in the best location you could possibly ask for. It's on Circular Quay, a major tourist area and the main ferry terminal, which takes you all around Sydney and the Sydney suburbs. The train station is at Circular Quay as well and will take you all over Sydney and the surrounding region. It's a 5 minute walk from The Rocks, which hosts the Rocks Market on weekends (great shopping!), excellent dining options, and fun nightlife.

The rooms are beautiful and clean. We didn't pay for a harbour view room, but they upgraded us for free since they had availability, which was wonderful. It was probably the best view of any hotel I've stayed at. The beds were so comfortable, which was really important to us with jet lag! The bathroom was fairly spacious, 2 of us could get ready at a time in there.

We loved Sydney and our stay at the Marriott topped it all off. I would recommend this hotel to everyone! It may be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and it is well worth the money!

We recently stayed at this city hotel for 1 night on a flying business trip north.

Service was sensational and professional as one would expect from a 5 star property.

Conveniently situated neat the financial hub.

A new base for our northern journeys.

“Great Hotel”

Marriott Sydney Harbour at Circular Quay

Dec 31, 2007

This is an excellent hotel in a superb location -- less than five minutes' walk from the ferries at the Circular Quay, and easy walking distance to the Rocks, the Sydney Opera House, and the Royal Botannical Gardens. We arrived rather late in the evening, and the hotel graciously upgraded us when the rooms we originally requested some months earlier were not available. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with good views of the Sydney Harbor. The buffet breakfast, which came with our room, offered a wide array of choices, including an egg station, salad items, many types of fruit, and a range of gourmet breads. Although the pool was modest, the hotel's gym was among the best of any I have seen, with a good set of weight-training machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment. Hotel employees were uniformly gracious and welcoming, and the concierge staff were generous with their time, providing many good suggestions for dining and touring.
