Celebrated our recent wedding anniversary with a stay in Club Sofitel. This is our favourite Brisbane hotel for family celebrations and it is yet to disappoint.
Pre-dinner drinks and canapes in the club lounge were delightful in variety, taste and presentation. The breakfast was superb.
Service at checkin / checkout and in the Club lounge was friendly efficient and very professional.
We stayed on a week night so it was probably a little less busy making for a very relaxing time and any request was attended to immediately and with courtesy.
On our experience we weren't able to fault this hotel.

“Not 5 star service”

Stayed in a Sofitel Club Room on Saturday 21 October. Checked in asked for our bags to go to room. 20 mins later no bags so we go down stairs and ask to take them ourselves. No problem but also no offer to do it for us. Airconditioning in room was not working and new flat panel tv displaying strange colours at times. Went to front desk and asked for both to be fixed. Was told that TV was due to weather. Strange when even in house promo channel was affected. Both fixed when we returned.
Overall a nice hotel and Sofitel lounge very good. Pity that little basic things with the room and check in let them down. A very good hostess in the lounge on Sunday morning who could not do enough for guests.
Booked room through Flight Centre and asked upon check in were FF points available on that rate and told yes. Will be interesting to see if that is honoured as often these bookings are not.

“Excellent hotel for business”

I stayed for 2 nights on a business trip in a Club Sofitel room.

Club Sofitel was excellent including free internet and printer - the printer being very useful, as I had my own wireless internet but of course no printer. Breakfast and drinks and canapes in the club lounge were tasty and a great feature, and a nice place to work instead of the room.

Very central location, above the central train station and a short walk to shops and restaurants. Concierge was very helpful with taxis, directions and food.

“The Best in Brisbane!!”

Sofitel Brisbane

As a frequent traveller to Brisbane I have stayed in many of the 'top end' hotels, and by far I must say Sofitel Brisbane has it all. From the moment I arrived (after a very strenuous day at work) I was greeted by reception with a very open & friendly welcome - something you don't always receive at 5 star properties. I had a Club Sofitel room booked, which has breakfast and predinner drinks and canapes included. It was a relaxing and unwinding start to my evening and stay at the hotel, and what views from the lounge. I only wish I had someone to enjoy it with rather than be there alone on business - maybe next time! I ordered in for dinner, and the Room Service equal in quality and presentation you'd expect in the restuarant.
I did stay in this hotel many years ago when it was a Sheraton, and I can honestly say it has improved vastly since those days. The other thing mentioning which was nice, were the ammenities in the room, L'Occitane products are one of my favourites, so it was nice to see them in the bathroom.
This is definately my choice in hotels for future stays in Brisbane, the staff really make you feel welcome and comfortable.

“Very average”

We arrived at this hotel with high expectations given the brand and recommendations we had been given. Check in was swift and we opted for a Sofitel Lounge room which included the access to the lounge as mentioned before (this includes breakfast and drinks & canapes 5.30-7 each evening). The breakfast here was very nice and the canapes and drinks very enjoyable. However, with just one internet point you had to be very patient and wait in line. The bedroom itself was small and the bathroom nothing special. We ordered room service one night and it arrived nearly 90 minutes later after 2 phone calls wondering where our dinner was. The food we had ordered was nearly cold (it seemed pretty obvious that we had been forgotten about) and again very average. We found the staff very standoffish (especially the girl dealing with room service) and in general really felt like we paid a premium price for an average hotel.
