This is a new resort right in the middle of the main street of Port Douglas. We had a three bedroom apartment on Level 1 with views over the main street. Apartment is light and airy and balcony doors can be opened. Great cooling and fans in rooms. The pool is Solar Heated now which is rare to find in Port Douglas however needed for winter. The pool is not big but was ample for us and every time we used it (quite often) we had it to ourselves. Onsite managers were friendly and helpful. If you are wanting a great place to stay with a family like we did (5 adults 2 toddlers) this was ideal. Steps were not a problem and we had peaceful nights sleep with no noise every night.

We stayed in a very modern two bedroom apartment, situated in the heart of Port Douglas. I cannot fault one thing about our accomodation, the facilities were in great condition and spotless, in particular the BBQ and pool area which were some of the cleanest and well kept that I have seen. Upon our return to Port Douglas I will definitely be staying at Saltwater again.

Had a great stay at Saltwater stayed in 3 bedroom penthouse, all mod cons as the web site suggests ,very central to restaurants and shopping would definately stay again.

We stayed at the Saltwater Apartments in a 2 bedroom penthouse for 7 nights in March 2008. The apartments are modern design. Very clean and well appointed (good compact kitchen, safe, hairdryer, washing machine, dryer, tv, dvd player). The location of the apartments is excellent. We had a large balcony and had breakfast out there every morning. We ate out most nights as Port Douglas has excellent restaurants to choose from. The apartments are right in the heart of Port Douglas, on the main street. Coles supermarket is across the road, very close. Lovely big tub to relax in (located in the main bedroom). That was a wonderful feature. We used the 2nd bedroom to sleep in as it had a king bed (the main bedroom only has a queen bed for some strange reason). The ‘open’ plan design was taken a bit too far for our liking. We did not like the toilet being virtually beside the bed – a crazy idea. As there were only 2 of us we used the other bathroom facilities so it didn’t matter much. There are actually 3 toilets in the 2 bedroom penthouse apartment, one is in its own room. Pool area was ok – nothing stand out. Hosts Carolyn and John were very helpful, answering questions & booking day trips for us. If you are fit, the stairs will be no problem but there are quite a few to navigate and they are steep so be warned! Overall, we had a great time and if we went back would certainly consider Saltwater again.
