This hotel is incredible. The lobby is small but the suites are quite large... you could get lost in them! I stayed here while touring Melbourne when my husband was working in another city. The only problem I had while staying here was feeling guilty having a huge suite to myself while my husband was in a dinky hotel room. The rooms (entry, *kitchenette* w/ dinette, living room, bedroom and bathroom)were spotless and nicely arranged. Free newspapers and movies. The Mercure Grand Hotel is located right around the corner from the Flinders Street Station and the free city trolley that circles the central business district. I'd stay there again in a heart- beat!

Very nice hotel, providing much value for what you pay for. Very central location in Melbourne, very close to transportation and the sites! Bed was pretty comfortable, abeit soft.

Nice service, daily newspapers, free movies on the television. Laundry facilities. Bathrobes in the room, as well as a fridge, microwave, silverware, and other cooking aides. There's a Coles Supermarket really close by to provide you with food.

Only caveat, try not to get a room in the front of the hotel (facing Flinders Lane). It can get noisy. Especially the lower you are. Rooms 101-103 are just above the street and are a bit noisy.

Great staff, great hidden gem. Highly recommend.

This all suite boutique hotel is a real value for money gem. We stayed at this hotel for a week early February in a one- bedroom suite. The suite was very well decorated and extremely clean. Excellent service, incredible location and surprisingly quiet for its CBD location. The small fridge, microwave and washing/drying facilities are real bonuses. Would not want to stay anywhere else in Melbourne. (N.B. If coming by taxi, be sure to have the hotel address since there are a few more Mercure hotels in the city.)

We frequently travel to Melbourne for a weeks R & R and need somewhere spacious and comfortable.

The suites are very roomy, beautifully decorated with excellent fittings. The location is on the edge of the CBD, close to Flinders station and the transport (trams) centre. the South Bank of the Yarra is ten minutes away as is the Entertainment centre and the best shopping area in Australia.

We have searched for years for the right hotel, we have now found it and will return year after year
