Stayed here for a business trip and wished I had been there on a personal trip. The hotel was fantastic - breakfast was great, bar was great, location was great, and it was clean. Not sure what else you need in a hotel. Also, the staff was amazing and enjoy working there, per conversation with the guy outfront who whistles for taxis. You can't go wrong staying here.

I stayed at the Langham during a business trip to Melbourne. Having previously stayed at the Auckland Langham, I had high expectations. I stayed in a standard room which had two single beds. They were very comfortable (although the pillows were a bit too flat for me!). The room was awkwardly positioned so that you couldn't watch tv from bed...but that's a small matter. Bathroom was clean with good amenities provided. It starting to look it's age though. Great separate shower.

Food at the Melba was great - I love the dinner buffet - absolutely delicious! Didn't have breakfast though, as the beds proved too comfortable for me to get up in time!

Staff were polite and helpful.

Overall, good hotel in a great location. Did it meet my expectations? Somewhat - I still think the Auckland Langham is better. However it has lived up to it's Langham reputation - I look forward to staying at their other properties this year!

Must agree with most of the other reviewers. Great position overlooking the river and city. Comfortable rooms well furnished. Marble bathrooms. We were on the club floors so used the club facilities for breakfast (excellent) and complimentary drinks and canapes (again excellent) Great views and service from the club staff. Would certainly stay here again........Highly reccommended

We stayed in the Langham for 4 nights having booked a River Room but on arrival we were upgraded to a Club Room (room 1817). We just loved this hotel. It's location is ideal as everywhere in the CBD is within a 30 minute walk plus the hotel overlooks the Yarra River. Staff were very friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. Also, there always seemed to be plenty of staff around. It really felt that this was an extremely well run hotel with excellent management. This is the best city hotel I have ever stayed in and I certainly agree that it's of 5 star standard.
