“good location”

Quest Atrium Wellington

3 of 5 stars

The Quest Atrium is in a good position off the main streets but has a very limited view, we did enjoy watching the late night toilers at Radio New Zealand House, the Quest is easily accessible through the James Cook Hotel from Lampton Quay the 1 bedroom apartment we had was adequate for our stay and having a small kitchen as well as a washer dryer was great, the bed was comfortable however the apartment was looking tired and worn, the window sheers were stained torn and dirty, the balcony had old crusted pigeon poo on the edge and rails, the curtains had mould on backs of them, the carpet and armchairs were just looking tired, the shower was great excellent pressure and excellent extraction fan, but the sealant around the base of the shower was badly mould stained, this property is non smoking in the rooms but unfortunately we were between two apartments that smoked outside on their balcony so if we had our balcony door open cigarette smoke would waft in, a word of warning on the balcony doors, I closed our balcony door with me outside (11pm and me in PJ's) and the locking mechanisms was in the halfway position and the force of me shutting the door sprang the lock on......luckily my husband was in the apartment and let me back in. We were in the Quest over Easter and there was no servicing on the public holidays.Overall the apartment was comfortable and adequate but not value for money and we will stay elsewhere next time we are in Wellington

“Quest Atrium is a great place to stay.”

My daughter and I spent five days in Wellington at the Quest Atrium and had a one bedroom unit facing the Terrace. It was great having the apartment as we could cook our own meals. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna. The location was perfect. It was very easy to get down to Lambton Quay for shopping. We will stay here again next time we are in Wellington.

“Nice apartment but that freeway noise”

Quest Atrium Wellington

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment in December 2007.Lifts at the James Cook hotel opposite give easy access down to Lambton Quay and the waterfront. The apartments are modern, purpose built. Our apartment had a back bedroom with 2 single beds and a double bedroom closed off from living area by sliding shutters. There is a full kitchen with a good array of utensils and quality appliances,a living area, washing machine and dryer and small bathroom with shower only. It is nicely finished in dark colours and modern furniture. There is a small external balcony. The rooms are serviced daily. I had a complaint about the lack of cleanliness of shower recess and the manager thanked me for reporting the problem and had it fixed! Parking is available at $10 per night and is necessary because parking on the Terrace is non-existent. We found it a good base for our week in Wellington. Guests also have access to the gym next door with its good size pool and its killer sauna. The downside was its location directly over the freeway. The glass is not double glazed and in any case as there is no air conditioning you need the doors open. Maybe if you had a room overlooking the internal courtyard it's better. The landing light shines in the back bedroom all night and blinds don't help. I would stay here again but only if I got one of those internal rooms. Also, it's up a steep hill so elderly people or those with very young children may find the location less suitable.
