“A MUST for your New Zealand Holiday”

Spending three nights at Stonehaven with John and Paulette was, without question, a highlight of our New Zealand holiday. My husband and I were welcomed into their beautiful home and were treated like family. John and Paulette are two of the nicest and warmest people you could imagine and their home is a welcome respite for the New Zealand traveler.
They haven't missed a single detail in terms of comfort and beauty. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the beds, with their plump and abundant pillows and wonderful matresses, are a haven after a long day's hike on the Queen Charlotte Track. But don't miss out on spending a few hours (or more!) having tea with John and Paulette. In fact, dinner at their home is a MUST! Paulette is an amazing chef and makes it look simple to prepare a gourmet meal while chatting with her guests. John's advice on just about everything from wine to checking the weather maps is invaluable. Based on his keen knowledge of reading weather maps we were able to find a span of time to hike the QC track in gorgeous weather. He knows the area well and both John and Paulette gave us great advice on things to do and see during our stay and on our drive to Christchurch.
I would suggest spending no less than 2 nights at Stonehaven if you can find the time in your holiday plans.
My husband and I are so pleased that we had the opportunity to spend three nights at Stonehaven. We now feel like we have a New Zealand "family"!

“A Full Immersion Into Kiwi Hospitality”

A superb B&B – perhaps the finest I’ve enjoyed anywhere across my five continents of travels.

Stayed two nights in early May while touring the Marlborough wine route. Perfectly situated nearby Marlborough’s finest vineyards and beautifully located within a vineyard of its own.

Owners John and Paulette Hansen were exceptionally warm and I instantly felt like long lost family member. Not merely great hosts, John and Paulette quickly proved to be quite the gourmets. Paulette’s three-course dinners, paired with wines from John’s collection, were most excellent and well worth the nominal additional cost. The included full breakfast was both delicious and filling. It should also be noted that most of the produce served was home grown!

My twin bedroom with downstairs private bath was comfortable and I was welcomed to relax throughout their gorgeous home. Internet and laundry facilities were made available for my use. Perhaps the highlight of my stay, though, was leaving the B&B and wandering throughout the beautiful garden and vineyard.

I cannot more highly recommend this homestay accommodation. Staying at Stonehaven was far more than just a stay – it was a full immersion into Kiwi hospitality.

We have just returned from New Zealand and we must say that one of the highlights of our trip was a two-night homestay at Stonehaven! John and Paulette are terrific hosts, and their home is magnificent, the gardens beautiful, and the food and friendliness beyond compare. We did our laundry and used their computer freely, which was an added bonus. Vineyards surround the property, which is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is impeccable, from the gardens to the bedrooms. Every traveler should take advantage of this gem!

A great B&B- John and Paulette made us feel right at home. The accommodation is of excellent quality, and is in a perfect location amongst the vineyards and within walking/cycling distance to wineries and restaurants. Breakfast and afternoon tea was fantastic, and the owners provided helpful recommendations for dinner. We will definitely stay there again next time we are in Marlborough

“Kiwi Gem”

Having just returned from spending 5 nights at this little slice of Kiwi Heaven, we cannot recommend it highly enough, if you are visiting the lovely little town of Blenheim, in the Marlborough region of the South Island.

From it's stunning, yet secluded, location within the vineyards, to it's tropical pool and gardens, or it's fabulous guest bedrooms with every home comfort catered for, this is truly an affordable little gem of a place.

Owners, the lovely and wonderful, John and Paulette Hansen are on hand to welcome you like an old friend into their stunning home.

John and Paulette are keen to ensure that your stay is nothing short of perfect and are on hand, if required, to offer advice on local excursions and activities or to point you in the direction of superb local wineries or resaturants. Although, it should be noted that Paulette is a terrific cook and will happily prepare you a three course evening meal from a superb menu with produce either home grown or locally sourced. John is also happy to uncork you a local vintage from his well stocked cellar, either to sip by the delightful, private pool or to accompany your delicious evening meal.

Exploring the local region is easy from this haven of tranquillity and it would be such a pity not to spend more than a few days at this gem of a homestay at the top of the South Island.

Do yourself a favour, go visit and go now...promise, you will not regert it-ENJOY!
