Our stay in the Antler Lodge was absolutely fantastic! The room (upstairs unit) was spacious with beautiful woodwork and all the amenities we could ever want (including a place to hang our tent to dry). Having the breakfast already in the room was perfect for us as we are not socialize-in-the-morning people. Also, our hostess was very helpful, friendly, and gracious. Even when there are photos on the web, you never know exactly what you're going to get. In this case, reality was even better than the web photos. I've posted a couple of ours even though they fail to capture the beauty of the room (at least you know they aren't doctored).

Antler Lodge is in a quiet and pleasant setting 10 minutes walk from the town centre. There are two spacious modern motel-style units behind the main house and a further guest room in the house itself. Everything was spotlessly clean. The fridge was well stocked for us to make our own breakfast. Our host, Helen (who's originally from Surrey, England) kindly let us store our bags in her garage while we did the Doubtful Sound overnight cruise.

This B and B was just what we needed: very comfortable lodging with kitchenette and breakfast supplies provided, warm and especially helpful hosts, and a great place to stay before and after hiking the Milford Track. The hosts Chris and Helen went out of their way to assist us. Helen drove us to the bus for our Milford track hike, and we were able to leave our rental car and luggage at the B and B while on our 4 day hike. It was a great comfort knowing that when we ended our hike tired and sore, we would have such a pleasant and restful home away from home upon our return.
