Stayed one night at the radisson, yes the hotel is very well situated , the hotel was very clean, and the decor is all very magnolia, i guess we had stayed at the new arcadia the night before so were being quite biased.
This hotel in comparison to a lot of radsson properties is a property which needs a refurb to me its is very early 90's looking.
Staff were pleasent enough, the room was facing the main square and was a good size room, bathrooms average size. Bed though was like a spring board with one flat pillow each, rang for more and got them with in 5 mins from house keeping.

This property is a good level operation, the breakfast was quite ok in the morning with a large array of diffrent offerings . I did ask for a late chack out at 9am and was told no they were busy that day, but from 9am to 12 checking out time 5 times house keeping just walked into the room to the point I had to cal the front desk and ask them to stop doing this, I am easy going but when i walk out of a bathroom naked after shower and theres middle aged woman with clip baord staring at you .. eh no thanks.

overall the location is fantastic, and you will enjoy it

“Wonderful Stay!”

We found this hotel to be one of the best in Eastern Europe! We actually walked to the hotel from the train station although I'd advise against it. It's really far.

Once we arrived we were given a one-bedroom room on the top floor. It was explained to us that the hotel was full and all the standard rooms were taken so we lucked out and were given this large one bedroom suite! We only stayed one night, but found the staff friendly and the room clean and spacious. The bathroom had a separate shower, bathtub and toilet area. It was one of the largest bathrooms of any hotel we've ever stayed in. We paid $125 euros.

There is not a lot to see in Bratislava, but we walked to the castle- a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and wandered through the Old Town area at night. We ate dinner at El Gaucho, an Argentinean steak house. It was okay, not great. The room came with breakfast in the morning and was delicious. Lots of selections-eggs, meats, cheeses, hot cereals, fruit, breads, etc.

Overall, a nice visit. The location is better than the Crowne Plaza.

“Not worth the money”

Radisson SAS Carlton Hotel

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in late September 2007. Let me start by saying that this is by no means a terrible hotel. It was in a good location, was clean, had simple accommodations and had fairly large rooms by European standards. My complaint is that this hotel does not come close to being worth the cost and is in no way a luxury hotel. Standard rates at this hotel are upwards of US$300 a night and the hotel bills itself was one of the best hotels in all of Slovakia. I chose this hotel only because it was one of a handful of places in Bratislava that had baby cribs for my infant daughter and I thought I would spend a few extra dollars to stay at the "best hotel" in the city. I have to say I was totally disappointed in the accommodations and the service because I was expecting something special. This Radisson was just like any airport Radisson, Doubletree or Courtyard Marriott in the United States -- it was a standard business hotel. There was no real front desk (just a couple guys at podiums), there was no real concierge (a counter with pamphlets), and no real bell captain (my wife and I carried our own bags in and out and there is occasionally a man by the front door who will arrange a cab for you). The amenities in the room were substandard as well: no refrigerator or mini bar, no bathrobes, two towels, a couple of small soaps and bath gels (which I had to request be replenished on the third night). The staff were not unfriendly, but nothing like what I was expecting from a 4 star hotel. Had I known that this was a Radisson just like any Radisson in the USA or had the nightly rate been about 50% less, I would not have been disappointed, but I had some real false expectations about the "#1 hotel in Bratislava". Several others in our party stayed at the Danube or Crowne Plaza and paid more than US$100 less per night and were totally satisfied with their accommodations.

On the positive side, I will say that the breakfast was pretty good, the hotel is beautiful on the outside, and the location is one of the best in the city.

The hotel is located in city center and next to the US embassy.

The personnel of the hotel is very friendly, rooms are nice and internet connection is free.

The restaurant where the breakfast is served has a nice little terrace which were closed during my stay (october).
