“Great Trip !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

We stayed here for four nights during cherry blossom time. This is a great family hotel with free breakfast and a pool. It is spotless and has the most comfy beds ever. The free breakfast was very good with tea and coffee being available all day every day . It is in a great location and is close to the metro and lots of restaurants and bars. The staff were all very helpful particularly John at reception. The ony gripe we had was that we had asked for a room on a high floor which we did not get even though the room had been booked since last August. We did eventually move rooms but that was more to do with the fact that the rope on the flag outside of our window banged against the pole the whole night, so beware if its a windy night. Overall we loved the HI and would certainly stay here again.

“Excellent for families with a couple of caveats”

Hampton Inn Washington, DC - Convention Center

Our room was very comfortable - larger than we expected, with cushions on the couch that could be moved to the floor for sitting and playing. Comfortable sleeping - except for pillows, which were very soft. We asked for hard pillows, and there were none, so we actually bought a couple of cheap hard foam pillows at the nearby bed, bath, and beyond and were reinbursed by the hotel! The pool is very small and was closed for part of our stay for a clean-up of some unspecified disaster. My biggest A++ was that the room was quiet. If that's an issue for you, request a room facing the back. The morning scene is convivial, with lots of travelers loading up on breakfast foods. Absolutely fine for kids - waffles, sausage, breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, donuts, etc. The staff is trying very hard to be friendly and helpful. We walked everywhere - to the Capitol, museums, etc. I wouldn't feel 100% comfortable walking past the little park across the street from the hotel at night, or by the corner two blocks away, of 6th and H, so you might just want to keep a head's up on that. You can walk downtown on 7th or 9th.

Valet parking is expensive, worth it for one night, but if you plan not to use your car, as we did, there's a parking lot one block further up on 6th ST. that charges $20 a night. For your last night, you might want to use the valet, as you have to be out of the $20. lot by 7 AM, and you can stay at the hotel lot til 3, with your bags stowed.

“Great hotel and near centre”

We all loved the hotel. Clean, nice breakfast, good people, internet access, near centre and generally very good taste.
Too bad we only stayed there for one night. The only black spot is the parking which was not for free and we couldn't see were the car was. So we were a bit insecure.

I definetely recommend it.

“Kids loved it”

Hampton Inn Washington, DC - Convention Center

This Hampton Inn was a fabulous experience. The kids loved swimming. The breakfast was pretty good. I only wish there were more healthy whole grain options. Our room was spacious enough for the four of us. Everything was exceptionally clean. We will definitely be back!

“Pleasant stay”

Hampton Inn Washington, DC - Convention Center

I stayed at the Hampton Inn DC Convention Center with my eleven-year-old grandson in March when I took him to Washington for his spring break. It was a convenient location with a good rate for DC. The staff at the front desk and the breakfast area were friendly, helpful, and polite. Our room was clean and comfortable and I felt very safe. Breakfast was varied and tasty. There were several restaurants in the area and the Metro is close by. There is a corner at 6th and H which seems to attract a problem group of people. We simply avoided walking by this corner. We had no problems with hot water as others have had. My one complaint is that there is no release lever in the bathroom sink. I had to put my hand in the water to pull up the stopper. I would definitely stay here again when I bring my other grandson.
