“Location is great, hotel is not”

Jurys Washington Hotel

2 of 5 stars
New Canaan, CT
May 10, 2008

This hotel is a real let down. I was awoken three times last night because all the doors to the rooms here slam on there own unless you hold them as they shut. You can hear every door in the hallway as it slams. The bathroom is akwardly laid out and you practically have to step over the toilet to get into the sqaure bath tub/shower.

There was a woman sleeping in front of the fireplace most of the night last night. When I left for dinner she was on the floor, when I came back she was in a chair she had pulled in front of thefire place with her bags piled up behind her on the couch. I went out again and then came back pretty late and the woman was gone but the three staff members on duty were lounging on the couches instead of standing at the front desk or actually doing something. I most likely will not stay here again.

“Best Value in DC”

Jurys Washington Hotel

May 2, 2008

This is a wonderful hotel right on Dupont Circle. It is probably one of the best locations in the city only steps from the Metro and many restaurants and clubs. The staff was wonderful and the room was great. I had a super view of Dupont Circle itself. The room had a flat screen TV and the bathroom had heated floors and an excellent walk in shower.

The best part was the value. I paid only $109-$129 per night by booking early. This is far less than comparable hotels in the area. I will be staying here again anytime I am in DC.

“3 Tries w the Jury's and a winner every time”

Jurys Washington Hotel

Apr 29, 2008

We've stayed at the Jurys 3 times and have come away very pleased every time.

Usually we are here weekend nights, and have been able to take advantage of very competitive rates. So good that we were a little uncertain just what we would be in for the first time (considering how great the location is).

The nice rooms, polite and helpful staff, and exceptional location have left us very pleased each time.

“Worth it convenient and clean”

Jurys Washington Hotel

Apr 28, 2008

We stayed in room 314, loved the flat screen TV, the huge walk-in shower, coffeemaker with good tea and coffee, and one of the largest in-room safes I've seen in a hotel. The shower had a 12 x 12 mirror pane in the wall, and the windows opened (only a few inches, but the breezes came in nicely). The hotel has several rows of windowed bump-outs, like bay windows, and our room was one of them, making it a larger room. Located a few steps from the elevator (I hate traipsing past 20 rooms to get to mine), I stayed there 5 days and never heard any hall noise.

Booking through the hotel and paying in full over 30 days ahead of time I was able to get the room for $129 per night. The weather was in the 70s during the day and probably in the 40s at night, and we kept the thermostat set at 65 and piled the heavy comforters on the floor.
I really liked that they sandwiched a blanket between 2 sheets and gave each bed 4 pillows. I liked that the sink was outside the door of the shower/toilet area, so I could blow dry my hair while my companion took a shower. The toiletries are from Bath Works, with subtle scents that last for hours.
The Dupont Grille on the ground floor makes 'top 10' lists for Washington DC restaurants. It has al fresco (outdoor) dining, and so does The Front Page restaurant nearby.
Kramer's books for breakfast has good food but harried staff; good variety, but when we travel we tend to go to 2 meals a day and need to have a more filling breakfast to tide us over for 7-9 hours.
There is a Starbucks across the street; if you like breakfast sandwiches, theirs taste wonderful and cost less than the coffee.
After 3 days we finally got the shortest trip to the Metro right: when coming from Metro Center, get off and head to the escalator towards the front of the train, at the top, loop towards Dupont Circle, turn to approach the hotel, cut through the ground floor bar to the elevator bank ... OK, or walk around the tiny end of the hotel and go in the main door.
We started calling this place 'home' after 2 days. At first I was non-plussed there was no dresser, only a column of cubbies in the closet, but it ended up being so much easier and handier than the usual drawers. It reduced my get-ready time in the morning by several minutes, to have all my stuff visible and segregated by type, and with one pull, all hidden. The big safe was perfect for stashing my purse, spare sodas, papers, etc.
Street noise may be less in the courtyard side, but I didn't come to Washington to get away from the city. I could peer out my window to see part of the lively action of Dupont Circle. Only one day out of 5 was the noise after 6 AM bothersome due to setup of a window cleaner across the street.

“Great hotel and location”

Jurys Washington Hotel

Apr 17, 2008

My family and I just came back from a 4 night stay at Jury's Washington Hotel and were very pleased. We had the renovated rooms and they were clean and comfortable and the newly tiled bathrooms were great. (I believe floors 2,3,4 are renovated.) The people at the main desk were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a bit expensive, but the food was good. The location was great, right across the street from the Metro and there are plenly of restaurants within walking distance. The only thing I would have done differently is park my own car. The hotel charged $28 with tax and we found there were parking garages across the street and down the block for about $18 + tax. Since we left the car in the garage until the day we left, we didn't need the valet service. I would definitely stay there again.. (and check Expedia, I was able to get a nonrefundable rate of $129 a night, it was limited availabitliy, but that was a bargain)
