“Great spot to stay”

We loved the Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavillon. It was extremely clean and had been done over about a year ago. We had great breakfasts which were included in the room rate. Also attached to the hotel is a wonderful Cheesecake Factory restaurant and a small mall. The metro is in the lower level of the attached parking garage. It takes about 15 minutes to get into the city via the metro, 20 minutes if you drive. Only problem with the metro is that there are not enough stations and you end up walking alot!!!!!!!!! Great city and a great time!

“Excellent Embassy!!”

Our family of five just returned from a great stay at the Chevy Chase Embassy Suites in Washington DC. The hotel came highly recommended and it STILL exceeded our expectations. Being a cynical business traveller I thought it would be hard to impress me... but honestly - the staff, facilities, food were all terrific. All members of our family agreed (Husband, children aged 4 (twins) and a 10 yr old). Other reviewers have amply stated the assets and amenities. This is a lovely, safe, beautiful hotel in a stunning neighborhood (our room overlooked Neiman Marcus, Bloomies) and lovely homes on the other side. This was a lovely respite in the throngs of spring break DC tourist season!

“Easter weekend away with family”

Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion

Mar 23, 2008

We just finished a four day stay over Easter weekend at Embassy Suites Chevy Chase after a friend of a friend who lives in Washington DC recommended it. We are a family of five, kids ages 13, 11 and 8, and there was plenty of room in the suite. We had a suite with a king size bed, queen pull out sofa and ordered a rollwaway bed which fit nicely at the foot of the king. We got around the city almost exclusively via the Metro. The access to the Metro is very good and does not require you to leave the hotel to get there. Tip - You do not want to be driving in Washington! There are a million traffic lights and once you get to where you are going, finding a parking spot is difficult to say the least. Take the Metro everywhere and walk. It is safe and very convenient.

The Embassy complementary breakfast is excellent and exceeded my expectations. Also, there is a Starbucks on the first floor of the mall which was a bonus! The kids looked forward to a frappacino in the late afternoon after a day of sightseeing. In addition, there are plenty of good restaurants within the complex (Cheese Cake Factory and Maggiano's) as well as within walking distance (Chadwicks for a very good lunch or Clydes for dinner).

The pool, although not big was very adequate for my eight and eleven year old. The hot tub is next to the pool and was good size. There is also a quality work out room directly adjacent to the pool area.

Across the street is a Galleria, with a Neiman Marcus, a Bloomingdales behind that, and a Lord and Taylor behind that. The Galleria has a movie theater if the weather doesn't cooperate. One note: they are building a new store across the street on the Galleria side of the hotel and they begin work at 7:00 am. If this doesn't wake you up the ambulance/fire truck that goes by seemingly early will wake you. Weekends were much quieter.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the monuments by moonlight tour:
http://www.trolleytours.com/Washington-DC/night-tours.asp
This was a two hour tour that the kids absolutely loved. I would highly recommend it. There is nothing like seeing Washington at night. Take the Metro to Union Station, have dinner first and then take the tour. Our tour was supposed to be 2 1/2 hrs. but actually took 3 hours.

Overall I would highly recommend staying at the Embassy Suites Chevy Chase. Do not let the fact that you are not staying right in DC scare you. The hotel is beautiful, great for kids, easy access to the Metro, scrumptuous breakfast, and very good restaraunts in the hotel or close by, all at a super value price. We would stay here again in a minute.

“Beatiful Hotel”

Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion

The hotel has a mini mall inside of an atrium. The hotel also has free breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30. They have a metro station under the hotel so you don't have to go outside. The staff was very nice, pleasant, and very helpful. The pool is 84 degrees warm and very nice for familys. The Embassy Suites lets kids go into the hot tub for 15 minutes strait (maximum.) The suites were very comfortable. The suites have 2 T.V.s in each room. One T.V. in the living room and one in the bedroom.

“Lovely and convenient!”

It was so lovely and convenient it spoiled us for future stays elsewhere! The room was very contemporary and had everything we needed. The full breakfast was fresh and delicious. And so convenient to the train! The mall has many great popular shops and there is more shopping and restaurants just outside the hotel. Really liked the workout space there! I hope we will have the opportunity to stay there again.
