“It's close to Disneyland, I'll give you that!”

Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland

I attended a conference in Anaheim and this was one of the hotel choices. Since my husband was coming along this time, I made sure that the hotel knew this. And as we checked in, the front desk person stated, KING size bed, yes? And we agreed. and checked in. Rooms weren't ready yet, so we went about our day and I returned at 3 pm. Imagine my surprise when I went to the room and found 2 queen sized beds. Called the front desk--seems that there were no king beds available that night. So, why didn't they know that earlier? Hmmm.... We tried to change, but no options available that night. It was an ok room, nothing special or spectacular (think very basic). Staff was ok, but not willing to go beyond the basics. Wouldn't do this one again, that's for sure.

“Perfectly nice and good view of fireworks too”

Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland

First let me say that I was NOT in Anaheim to go to Disneyland, I was attending a conference at the convention center. So for me I loved the fact that the Fairfield was a block or two past the main gate to Disneyland and back off the street more than most of the other hotels so I felt like I was escaping, at least a little, the chaos that centers around Disneyland. When I arrived at the Fairfield after spending exhausting hours on busy LA freeways (that I am not used to) I was checked in by an extremely pleasant and efficient person, the famous cookies were avalable, the room was clean and cool - I felt like I had reached an oasis after a long hot frustrating day. All my encounters with staff were positive, everyone friendly and helpful. They cheerfully answered questions, stored my luggage after I had checked out so I could pick it up later in the day when my conference was done, generally made me feel comfortable about asking them for anything I needed. I had worried from other reviews about noise from the highway but I ended up with a room on the park side which was great. It seems like the air conditioning might drown out the highway noise from that side but when I walked around on that side it did seem very loud. Although I am not a Disneyland fan I must say that I really enjoyed watching their fireworks every night from the hotel. I could see them from my room but I usually walked around the outdoor hallways to a spot with a more complete view - great fun. This is not a super fancy hotel - that's why you don't have to pay a super fancy price. But with the nice beds and pillows the only thing that seemed cheap was the towels. They are pretty thin but they give you lots so it wasn't really a problem. As others have mentioned it was spotlessly clean. I was very pleased with this hotel and very glad I chose it.

“Great week with Micky and Marriots”

Booked through AAA. Recommend booking with tour package, saves on cost.

Review: Safety: Hotel is in safe section of town. Hotel provides security guards for parking lot and hotel. Rooms have excellent locks and door guards.

Check In: Almost time free. They insist you put a $50 deposit on a credit card while you stay. I said (oh no, here come the fees), but there were none added.

Rooms: No assist with luggage. Have some luggage carts, and there are three elevators to rooms. Some rooms a bit of a walk from elevator. Open with card key. Hotel has nine floors and Two towers with front and back rooms. Rooms beginning with (floor number)29 and up are best to see fireworks. Rooms were fairly large, even with two beds. Television worked okay, but there was some satellite interence. Had good selection of channels for all ages, and stuff you could purchase to watch.
Beds had lots of pillows and were very comfortable. Beds have sheet, then top sheet under blanket, then sheet on blanket. No top quilt. Room has desk with chair and couch that folds into a bed. My son liked the couch bed. Colors in room are mostly white and beiges, carpet was green. All rooms ending in 29 are handicapped equipped rooms and larger than normal. Good information is provided about the hotel in the room. Telephone and alarm clock worked fine. Bathroom has a little small. Contains toilet and bathtub with shower. Worked fine and was clean. Sink outside bathroom. Room also had coffee maker, refrigerator, iron and hair dryer. Also has free internet, worked well although a little slow to come up. Room includes free daily USA today (but you have to pick it up in the lobby). Room was very quiet also. Could not here people above or below. Could here shower running while in bathroom (not my own) and some doors slamming. Also fireworks go off loudly at about 9:30 except on Thursday (at 8:30). They are incredibly loud inside the room, so you will not be sleeping until 9:30. Could be better in Disney offseason.

Location: Within 10 minutes walking to Disneyland entrance. Also near restaurants...Millies, McDonalds, Cold Cream Ice Cream, Tony Romas and others.

Parking: with 400+ rooms, there are not enough parking places, so park early in the day. I think they thought people would come on shuttles from the airport or something. And there is a big emply parking lot in back of the hotel that is not used. OPEN OPEN OPEN!

Other: In the hotel there is a wonderful pool and hot tub, and a very nice snack bar on the third floor where you can buy pizza, sandwiches, breakfast and healthy snacks at reasonable prices. There is also a microwave here. Same area also has a game room with video games of different types, including pin ball that play for reasonable prices. My kids loved going up to play and order their own snacks and meals. There is a desk in the lobby which will arrange travel and trips for you. Someone is at the lobby 24/7.

“Nice and Close”

The Fairfield Inn was a nice place to stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the Pool. There are several places to feed the family in the area such as McD's, Millie's, Mimi's, and of course Pizza Hut. The Fruit Cup's were really good, but a little pricey. We ordered a couple of kid shows, and when one didn't come across the T.V. I called the front desk and they took all the movie charges off my acount. That was nice. I requested extra towels and pillows and it was no problem. The only complaint is one day while taking a nap. A person opened my room door with a key card and said he was given the room. I called the desk and they acted like it was no big deal, I later went down to complain and it was still not a big issue to them. That was a little concerning. All in all I would probally stay again.

“Nice and close to the Park”

Fairfield Inn Anaheim Disneyland

5 of 5 stars
Vancouver, Canada
Jun 20, 2008

We booked an Alaska Airline Package and where very pleased with our choice of the Fairfield Inn. There were a few cheaper places to stay but further away from the park.

The hotel is a very short walk to the park, my 4 year old son had no problem with the walk, except of course if he fell asleep at night before we left the park.

The rooms were just the right size, the pull out bed was just right for my son but couldn't picture an adult or teenager sleeping in it. The only issue I had with the room, as a previous posting mentioned was the shower head. I'm only 5"10 and I had trouble with it as it is placed quite low.

Was great that the hotel provided water jugs near the elevator for a quick drink after walking back from the park.

The pool and hot tub are a little on the small side but nice and refreshing after a hot day.

The pizza hut was convenient in the hotel but we found the Millies Restaurant in the parking lot of the hotel to be really great.

The only problem I had at the hotel was during check in, we arrived at 2:30pm and were told our room wasn't ready but they would have someone tend to it right away. We went for lunch, came back and were told still not ready, then we were asked to wait in the lobby, finally at 4pm I went back to the counter and was told it had been ready for an hour, she apologized to us but it was tough sitting in the lobby when our room was sitting waiting for us.

Things happen and this wouldn't stop us from visiting the Fairfield again.
