“Great location, adequate facilities”

It's a block of a building with a little concrete area for a small pool, surrounded by a tightish parking lot - obviously optimized for most profitable use of the available lot area.

The room was clean and everything worked fine though you wouldn't call it a luxury property.

The included continental breakfast (upstairs at the adjacent Captain Kidd restaurant) is generic - pastries, cereal, toast, etc.

As everyone else has noted, you can't beat the location and the value-for-money was good.

Our nearly-three-year-old daughter is enough of a waterbug that next time I might look for something with a better pool.

Stayed Mar19-25. I read lots of reviews about hotels around Disneyland. This place came on my travel agents recomendation, based on the location, and that she has stayed here. Some of the reviews make it out to be not so nice, but all the hotels reviews are the same. We often stay at Best Western hotels.

We stayed in #150, the first thing we did when we entered the room was to wipe most of the contact areas with Mr. Clean wipes to see how much dirt there would be...NONE! No hairs in the bathroom, no mold, no dust, a perfectly working a/c,tv, etc.

Was able to rent a new red Mustang convertible from Select Rental, which is in the lobby. Ross was wonderful and took care of us. Did not have continental breakfast or eat at Captin kidds.

Free internet in the lobby, so we could check on the NHL scores, and get trip advisor reviews on restaurants and attractions outside of Disney.

The pillows they use here are great, we bought 4 when we got home. The parking spots are tight, but take your time and you'll be fine. Never had a problem getting a spot close to our room. We did not use the pool, but lots of people were, and I noticed that it was cleaned every morning. The housekeeping staff do a great job, no problem asking for extra pillows/blankets.

Brad at the front desk was also very helpful and turned us on to Luigi's Italian Restaurant and he IS from Italy! Inexpensive quality food, there is a menu at the front desk. Also had no plumbing noise, tenant noise, bad smells etc, etc.

We had such a positive experience, we are coming back at Christmas!

“Can't Beat the Location”

Best Western Park Place Inn - Mini Suites

Apr 7, 2008
5/5 found this review helpful

We just returned from a stay at the Park Place Inn & Suites on our annual Disneyland trip. It included myself, my husband our 2 sixteen year olds and our 11 year old. We had a mini suite which consisted of 2 queens and a queen pull out sofa sleeper. We booked through Disney Travel Co. We have stayed many places around Disney this was the first time we tried the Park Place. The location can't be beat it is even closer to the main entrance than the Disneyland Hotel. I think the only closer hotel would be the Grand Californian. We were in the park literally in less than 5 minutes. The rooms were spacious, plenty big enough for the 5 of us. The rooms were very clean, and you can tell they have been recently renovated. They are not fancy at all but nice, this is still a Best Western. The rooms are motel style. The staff is friendly and housekeeping was excellent. our room was always cleaned when we came back and we had plenty of towels and fresh clean sheets each day. We arrived about 1 PM and our room was ready and they checked us right in. The parking is tight but it is secure. The only downside is the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything. We had the pleasure of staying in a room next to "Michael" who is 4 years old and his family, we knew all about Michael because starting at about 6 AM every morning Michael's mother repeated his name no less than 10 times in about a 30 minute period trying to get him up and ready. He has a 7 month old brother who is teething we learned this about 2 AM on our 2nd night when he woke up screaming and crying for about an hour. You hear when people roll their suitcases along the walk, you hear every conversation in every room around you. It was fine for us though we laughed it off as part of the adventure. You would probably be ok if you had a corner room on the 3rd floor noise would probably be minimal. There are only a few chanels on the TV and reception is poor but we were fine with that, we only watched TV to catch the weather report for the day. The pool looked fine, we didn't use it, too cold for us, we're Arizonians. There is a free continental breakfast in the Captain Kidds next door upstairs, my husband and son when over to get coffee there in the morning the coffee was not great but it served it's purpose, they did grab an doughnut and bagel the first morning and in keeping with the other reviews they said they were not good, stale in fact. But that is Captain Kidds not the hotel so really doesn't count. All in all it was good. We would probably stay here again if we were doing a short 3 night trip again. It is worth it because of the location.

“Best location at Disneyland!”

Best Western Park Place Inn - Mini Suites

My sister and I went to Disneyland for a week from Feb16-23. Booking a hotel was a challenge with the many choices available. We decided with BW Park Place Inn mainly due to price and location. No one can beat their location. Honestly we leave the hotel lobby and the crosswalk is right there. Cross the street, walk past the bus stop and go straight to the Disney entrance. Doesnt take more than 5 minutes. No location is going to beat that! Our travel agent had originally recommended BW Stovalls but we found out that is was alot further than Park Place Inn. The price was super reasonable as well. I checked online at the BW site and Expedia. Both were in the 100's. I called the hotel directly was was able to get $93/night! Super deal.

The hotel was considerate of our requests. We informed them of a late arrival and our room was guaranteed. We also wanted a top level room to avoid any noise from kids running around early in the morning. It was no problem. Our first impression when we arrived were below avg. But after we entered our room we were more comfortable. Just as in the pictures on their site we got 2 double beds. Clean room. A small eating area. Microwave and mini fridge were clean. Bathroom was clean and everything was working. We were very greatful for the coffee maker to make warm drinks in the morning and instant noodles. Only concern in the door lock/bolt. We added a large chair against the door when we slept just in case.

Captain Kids is not as bad as people say. Bagels and toast were alway available. Good cream cheese and orange juice. It always filled us up in the morning. Apples an oranges were good snacks fo the rest of the day. If you like hot breakfasts then of course you will be disappointed. Just go to IHOPS and pay in that case. The staff are friendly and no matter what time we went we would only wait a couple of minutes max to get a seat.

Front desk is nice and friendly. Not so helpful for directions for weather forecast. Didnt rely on them for much information.

Best Western Park Place Inn - Mini Suites

We booked a two nite stay thru Best Western's website. Gave us the best rate, $130 per nite.

The free continental breakfast is nothing special. It is okay and found next door at the Captain kidd's restaurant, upstairs. When the hotel is full or near capacity, best to get breakfast early.

We had a King suite with a pull out sofa bed. Our two kids (10 and 6) slept on the sofa bed and it is okay for kids. For adults, it would not be comfy. The mini fridge and mike was handy for snacks. The suite looked like it was recently renovated maybe a year ago. The parking lot is not very big and spaces are small.

The hotel is an older property with all room entrances from the exterior. There are three floors to this long and narrow hotel. We had a second floor corner room - 242 - in the back of the hotel. It was fairly quiet and had a partial exposure to the freeway a couple of miles away. There is one elevator in the middle of the complex, so if you had our room it was still a bit of walk if you chose to use the elevator. Lighting was a bit of an issue - especially if you had room in the back of the hotel.

If you want a more quiet room, choose one on the third floor, units 46-54. This way, you do not get the residual noise from the freeway.

The hotel is barely a 10 minute walk from the front gates of Disneyland. This is why we booked here. Very convenient for a mid afternoon break from the parks. McDonald's is one block away and a decent family restaurant with big portions is a couple of minutes walk from the the McDonald's.

Overall, the room was clean and big enough for a family of 4. Would not really stay here more than 2 or 3 days. Keep in mind you are in a busy area where there will be lots of people walking to the parks, quite a bit of traffic too.
