An oasis where peaceful harmony prevails. Fred and staff make you feel like this is your home and they are there simply to make your stay fabulous. The food is sublime and the Moroccan almond cookies...yum. I want to return today.
If you go to Fes or to any other imperial city in Morocco, staying inside the Medina is a must. Now staying at Riad Laaroussa, is one of the best experiences we had in this wonderful country. When we arrived at Laaroussa and found this incredible patio with a palace look, we could not keep our mouth shut. Simply stunning. We walked up the big stone stairs to our Red Room and felt that 3 nights was going to be to short to enjoy such a paradise. We recommend dining at the main patio close to the orange trees and enjoy their delicious breakfasts at the roof deck. Fred (the owner) is a super host and made us feel at home. Service is excellent. Just don´t miss the experience.
You would be insane to stay anywhere else! This hotel surpassed the service and attention to detail that I have experienced at any other hotel. Nothing was overlooked, the property is beautiful and immaculately clean. The food is beyond exquisite. The service is prompt, polite and attentive though most of your needs are anticipated before you realise it yourself. Bill and Tom are wonderful, as are the rest of the staff. Worth every dirham!

Business serviceWe arrived by hire car from Marrakech and Sabah kindly met us to guide us the the Riad. That was essential.
However well travelled, nothing could prepare the senses for the contrast between the narrow Medina alleys and the ancient court of floodlit orange trrees and lawn surrounded babbling fountain, that welcomes, beyond the door to Riad Laaroussa.
This dream-like centre piece combines ancient Morrocan architecture with all its magnificent historic intricacy and charm, together with the extraordinary artistic sensitivity of the owner responsible for reflecting the same dedicated passion that built it all in the first place.
We were flooded with the sense of 'having arrived'.
That thirst quenching travellers' relief, gulping in that 'whoever runs all this, knows what's required'.
They do and it's a team led by the owner Fred.
Fred is a man who like any artist, first makes himself a canvass by painstakingly renovating to authentic perfection, a seven hundred year old palace.
He then takes the many colours of the local Morrocan people in his staff, selecting the strong pigments of care, humour, understanding, ability and from these he mixes and presents an experience worthy of an impressionist grand master, vivid colour, charm and a sensual delight.
If you can get to stay there, do - there are bold exciting touches where 'Fred the artist' has waved his brush with modern energy and flair and that's just another of the many big 'Wows' behind that little alley door.
