Having stayed in many boutique hotels throughout Europe, Dar Charkia for service and hospitality is by far the best we have experienced. Lisa and Michael treat you as friend’s not just guests and ensure that you have everything you need during your stay. The staff are wonderful and the Riad is furnished to a very high standard. Dar Charkia serves both wonderful food (freshly made) and superb Moroccan wines taken either on the beautiful roof terrace or in one of the cosy alcoves of the Riad. I really would recommend that you eat at the Riad, just give Lisa notice on your intentions and she will serve you in my opinion probably the best meal of your stay in Marrakech.
I am not normally compelled to write a review in fact this is only my second but Lisa and Michael are such superb hosts I felt I just had to, as I would have no hesitation in recommending the Riad to anyone.
Lisa and Michael arranged our transport to and from the airport which was seamless and cost 150 dirhams each way. Lisa was also kind enough to recommend numerous restaurants and trips to pre-book before our arrival if we so wished. In fact we asked Lisa to book our chosen restaurants which were all superb with a different experience every night.
The Riad rooms were all individually decorated with Lisa's artistic flair, the attention to detail was obvious all throughout the Riad and very tastefully put together.
We all enjoyed our stay so much that we are prepared to break our own rules of never visiting the same place twice and we cannot wait to return.

What a great way to celebrate a birthday weekend with your friends?!!!
Lisa and Michael were splendid hosts and couldn't do enough to help, from organising a fantastic in house dinner , to making dinner reservations and offering to take us shopping and also encouraging us to partake of the traditional hamman/gommage.
The Riad is beautifully decorated and the small personal touches do not go unnoticed ( little beach bags in each room to take your belongings on the the roof terrace.)
I am already planning my next visit !!

I can't say a lot more than all the other great reviews but Dar Charkia truly is a most fantastic place to stay. Our trip was a really special event for us and I'd spent ages searching for somewhere that was right for it. Dar Charkia ticked every box and some that we hadn't even thought of. Lisa & Michael are great, their advice is brilliant - even down to the 'clean loos' pointed out on our sightseeing map. Don't keep looking, just book this one.

Dar Charkia is really a standout. Nicely decorated, clean and comfortable... great food. Ask Lisa about arranging an expedition with tour guide Catherine ([-]). Traveling with Catherine and staying at the Dar Charkia was a winning combination.

an amazing city, an amazing riad, an amazing hostess. Dar Charkia Rocks!
A splendid place to enjoy our 'big' birthday celebrations with unrivalled attention to detail. The fabulous decor inspired most of us to refurb our own homes!
The Hostess made our stay very personal from the delicious evening meal which included a specially made 'happy birthday' loaf to the detailed shopping guide and spa recommendation.
I would definitely recommend breakfast on the terrace - a great way to start the day.
