I went with my partner and 13 year old daughter for two weeks and can honestly say we had a really good time and had a go at everything. The town is a short taxi ride away but please beware of anyone coming up to you, as you get out of your taxi, and saying they "work at your hotel" and "do you not remember them". This happened to us and we unwittingly went for an invited tour of the town with a man who said he was our waiter the previous night. After following him down back streets we eventually arrived at a carpet shop where we were press-ganged into buying a carpet we didnt even want. The Tunisians are quite bullish in their sales technique and we only went to the town on two other occasions. You have to be firm and just say no thankyou and walk away, which goes against the polite English way. The hotel had only been reopened a couple of weeks when we arrived and the Entertainment Team were all new but they were extremely good given the lack of costumes and props. The food was very good and varied and the pastries and cakes, a speciality of Tunisia, were out of this world! The room was very clean although the bath had been painted with gloss paint and should really have been replaced. On the beach there were activities for the children and there is a guard to stop the passing vendors forcing their goods onto the tourists. My only comment is they could do with a beach cleaning operation as there was quite abit of litter and I picked a broken bottle up from the sand and placed it on a wall because there were no bins. I certainly recommend the trip but I think two weeks was a little long, maybe 10 days would have been better.
