I do not fully agree with sleepaway for the comments. Yes a renovation is required but the Hotel is amazing. The staffs are the best. Their wireless internet is really good. Food is perhaps the best. It is worth every penny. And the best part of this hotel is the personal touch you get from the upper level Management to the lower level Management staffs. The location is really good. BUT IT IS BETTER TO BRING EAR PLUGS.

The owner of this well-worn and shabby property is building a much grander hotel in Thimphu and may be allowing this property to run down as a cash cow. It was a grubby and unpleasant place for two stays on our recent tour of Bhutan. On arrival for the second, 2-night stay, our room was littered with shopping bags and candy wrappers and crumbs left by a previous occupant. The food was adequate but no better than any place else. We were awakened every night by the bands of stray dogs who roam the streets of Thimphu all night, barking and howling. Surely there is a better option than this place.

Druk Hotel is even better then before. I stayed there five years ago, and went back now. The service is good bhutanese service, the rooms are clean, staff is quite open to strange requests. Plus the hotel is in the super centre of the city at a walking distance from anything you might want at the last minute and the wireless connection is working SUPER. I am definitely going to go back if I can.

Although afraid to stay in this hotel after reading the only review, I was very surprised when we arrived. The lobby is clean and nice, the staff very helpful. The rooms were excellent, clean, equipped with all a guest dreames of. The breakfast was one of the better ones we had, with a very large choice of delicious dishes, prepared for every taste.
The location is right in the centre of the town and near shops, very nice just to take a walk around. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would like to stay there in the future.
