Just returned from Kathmandu and our tour operator had us stay at the Manang Hotel. Don't. It is overpriced, noisy and without a good hang-out area. A much better place we looked at later was the International Guest HOuse - this is a must see if you are in the city. (different than the Kathmandu Guest House which is in all the guide books)
