The Fishtail's biggest draw is its setting which definately lived up to the blurb despite the monsoon weather. Crossing the Lake on a hand pulled raft to get there gives a nice sense of privacy and an exclusive feel. The views of the mountains wern't in evidence but in the monsoon season we didn't expect them. The food and service was very good. We were on a half board basis so got to sample a variety of the buffet breakfast and wide dinner menu. The view from the reastraunt over the lake is very peaceful and the gardens good to chill out ofter a days hike up to the peace pagoda etc. There's a wide selection of butterflies vist the gardens and a few birds.
The only down point was the rooms, though they were comfortable, they smelled a little damp, probably due to lack of use, but the management would do well to note this and freshen up some of the rooms when bookings are made. Other than this small point we had a very enjoyable stay and will be staying there again after the monsoon ends.
