Asia Airport Hotel
We stayed in September 2007 at 2,000 Baht net/ night. Walk-in rate. No breakfast. They said government officer with ID card will pay 1,400 Baht.
The walls were old, not so clean and not smooth. The carpet was a cheap kind but didn’t have bad smell. Room size about 5m x 6m including toilet. The tiny bathtub was enough for a 47kg Asian lady. Old shower screen. Shampoo and soap in press box on wall. No toothbrush. Hand towels and bath towels were small and old.
The spring mattress was good enough but the double bed was smaller than normal (about 1.4m x 2m). Bed cover, bed sheet and blanket were old but soft. No coffee making set. There was a safe box but it was locked. The pool was seen if we stood in the small corridor.
This was the bigger room after we asked them to change. Our first room was half of a corner room and was very small. When walking towards our room, we could hear Thai people talk in their (closed) rooms. Saw Thai guests in yellow T-shirts everywhere in this hotel. The male staff who led us to our bigger room was not happy.
Downstairs (not sure how many floors) was Zeer Rangsit IT Mall. Around hotel’s front and side including a part of basement, many street vendors sold clothes, bags, etc. Within a few minutes walk, you can reach Carrefour supermarket, Hot Pot Buffet, KFC, Tops supermarket, etc. We had dinner at Hot Pot Raimen at basement. One item was from 60 – 160 Baht.
3 years ago we booked in advance at about 1,600 Baht with breakfast and the room was a lot better which was why we came back. The Reception photo as seen in TA (by Orbitz) was taken years ago. Now it’s a little counter on 10th Floor and we need to change to another elevator to reach our floor on 17th floor.
With 2,000 Baht we could stay in Ibis Siam Hotel in a very new(ly renovated) Junior Suite (click my name to check my review) which is a lot nicer. We will never come back to Asia Airport Hotel unless they renovate.
