Conrad Bangkok

I stayed at Conrad for 3 nights on my first trip to Bangkok before moving on to Peninsula Bangkok for next 3 nights, both of which are legitimate 5 star hotels. You can see my review on Peninsula on Tripadvisor as well.

1. Room: I stayed at executive floor King room that included high speed internet access and breakfast at the lounge. The room is absolutely to die for. If I were given 436 sqf of space building my own sanctuary, it'll look just like this one. It is a true benchmark in hotel room design. See-thru bathroom has all the latest mothern amenities including invigorating rain shower. Perfect lighting. Pound for pound the best bathroom design considering its size. You can enjoy night views while taking shower. Tropical fruit basket and bottlted water always get refilled before you know it. Bed is somewhat firm, but that is the way I like it the most. Array of room amenities such as business desk, LCD TV, mini bar, closet and sofa are in perfect location for ease of use. What an efficient room design! The designer is Oscar worthy if there is such a thing.

2. Public areas: I did not use the pool but it looked very nice. Spa facility is world class as well. There is no outdoor hotel grounds other than the pool area. It has ambience of true luxury business hotel because of that whereas peninsula is more like a luxury boutique resort. Lobby is nothing fancy but more businesslike again. Backdoor to lobby is an entrance to a shpping mall. Direct access without leaving hotel.

3. Service and Staff: very friendly, great smiles all over, typical Thai hospitality. Limo service with new S-Class Mercedes available on the premises as well as regular taxi.

4. Breakfast buffet at the lounge has good selection. Peninsula tops the chart in this category though.

Budget-minded 5 star hotel seekers in Bangkok should look no further. Conrad is the one! For those who are not budget-minded, there is always Peninsula, Creme de la Creme. I looked into Oriental Hotel for a brief visit and I was not as impressed.

* Tips: 1. Take a city map and business cards (from Concierge) with you as most taxi drivers I met do not know exact location of Conrad. Show him the map and card instead of wasting time explaining in English.

2. If you plan to use internet and eat breakfast at the hotel, go for room upgrade to executive floor.

“Impressive, Sleek and Stylish Hotel!”

Conrad Bangkok

Had a wonderful Contrad Experience at Conrad Tokyo two years ago, and I looked for another Contrad this time in Bangkok, expectedly, it was an another fantastic Conrad experience. I stayed 32nd executive floor, comfortable bed, convinient bathroom and wonderful rainshower, everything was in the perfect order except I could smell heavy smoke in a non smoking room, they immediately provided air purifier, it got completely normal a day after. Breakfast at 29th floor was a great experience and the entire staff were "great" with a professional service. Hotel staff uniform stand out from other Hotels and they looked sharp and neat and spa facility was the state of the art, clean, quiet with a right temperature. Again the staff were the major memoriable experience, their natural smile and polite manner and willingness to accomadate my needs to ensure my comfort stay at conrad. I just love this place and their Mercedes Benz S550 New Limousine service also made my trip much more pleasant. See you Conrad again!

“Unassuming & polished”

Conrad Bangkok

5 of 5 stars
Western Australia

We stayed at the Bangkok Conrad to be near the Australian Embassy to arrange the paperwork for a legal wedding in Thailand, and it was in an ideal location (a tip for US travellers is that the US Embassy is near by as well). Our room was a corner room on a Club Floor which afforded us access to the Club Lounge. The room was beautifully laid out with a table & chairs by the window and a very large bathroom with a big bath also right next to the window. Great views from the lounge, bath or shower. There is also a large walk in robe and a well stocked mini bar. The hotel is a quiet little oasis to retreat to when the busy streets of Bangkok get a bit too much! The breakfast, afternoon tea and canapés served in the Club Lounge each day were consistently varied and of a very high standard. The staff are polished and friendly without being too friendly. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants as the Club Lounge kept us well fed, however one night we did travel to Sirocco (which is not too far) to enjoy dinner and drinks in their open air restaurant – very memorable. And the shopping in Bangkok was also fantastic… however we were only there for 2 days which wasn’t long enough!

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Either the room itself or the quality of the gorgeous canapes in the Club Lounge
    • Disliked — It could be a bit businessy for some people - we didn't mind.

“Amazing suite at the Conrad”

Conrad Bangkok

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Conrad in BKK. Again we were not dissapointed. As a hilton honors gold card member we paid a fee to upgrade to a suite on the executive floor. Cannot find a bad word to say about the place. The staff are all ever so amazing. One day the pool atterndant was on door duty in the main lobby, later that afternoon he was back at the pool ready to deliver you with water and a towel. When we mentioned this he was absolutely astonished that we had recognised him, so unasuming of him and typical of the service given in the Cornard (and indeed other 5 star hotels) I think this is what makes a visit to Thailand so memorable. Would definately stay here again. The breakfasts in the executive lounge were excellent, the afternoon tea and evening cocktails fantastic. A true 5 star hotel and experience.

“Great hotel in good location”

Conrad Bangkok

5 of 5 stars
Hong Kong
Mar 26, 2008

Conrad is part of All Seasons Place, conveniently located on Wireless Road. The connection to the mall gives guests a choice of additonal restaurants, and access to a supermarket for supplies.

I also like the location a lot - easier to get to compared to the hotels on the river or on Sukhumvit and Ratchadamri.

Room is nicely appointed. Bathroom is very nice with a big standalone bath tub and a nice rain shower. The sitting area is also nice, and the hotel delivers different local fruits daily.

A good business hotel, but also good for tourists.
