“Excellent for the Shopaholic!”

Baiyoke Suite Hotel

My main purpose in going to Bangkok is to shop, shop and shop some more. Baiyoke suite is the best hotel to stay in for that matter. Located at the heart of Prattunam, all the cheapest clothes shops are right there as you step out of the hotel. You'd be surprised how much and how far 100USD can get you.

Reception was ok, considering only 25% of the people in Thailand speaks english, they were quick and polite. Lobby and coffee shop located at the 5th floor, not as nice as it looked like in the net, but I really couldn't care less, I just wanted to go shopping right away.

Rooms were spacious, fairly clean, good airconditioning, beds and pillows are soft and comfy, linens smelled nice, clean towels, robes and slippers provided, complete toiletries, very small tub though and low shower heads. Definitely not for tall and wide loads. Water fluctuates from warm to cool, but with the hot weather in Bankok, you'll definitely need a cool shower.
Good view but no access to the balcony. Dining table, personal ref as the mini bar. 2 TV sets, 1 in the bedroom and the other in the living room, only 2 out of the 5 channels are english, no time to watch anyways-1st batch of shops open at 3am-9am. 2nd batch from 9am-6pm. 3rd batch 6pm-12mn. This definitely is the shopping mecca in asia.
A weighing scale is also provided so you can monitor not your weight but your luggage weight.

House keeping, i really dont know, i keep my DND sign on the door knob all the time to keep my shopping bags secure.

Breakfast buffet at the sky lounge is good, plenty of choices. great view.

TIPS:
- if you need anything from the housekeeping or other department, call the reception and ask them to call them for you instead. Only the front office speaks in english.

- Live a little, be more adventurous with your taste buds, street foods are fairly safe and verrrrry delicious, they have everything from fruits to prawns and friedrice to satay barbeque. If it smells good, it tastes good! (Except for the Durian fruit, it smells like hell, but tastes like heaven) Yummy! Beats room service! and really cheap too, 100baht for a complete meal(32baht to 1USD), including fresh fruit juice too. Just step out of the hotel.

Overall...theres no other hotel in Bangkok for me! Affordable, convenient, comfortable. What more can I ask for?

“Good location, but...”

Baiyoke Suite Hotel

Adelaide, South Australia

Huge rooms in ok condition, but showing the effects of poor repair work. Hardest pillows ever slept on. These were changed promptly on request but really not much of an improvement. Steps at entrance make carrying heavy luggage difficult. Showers most of the time were cold and complaints about this were shrugged off by reception. We had to leave at 6 am and couldn't get a room service breakfast because they were busy preparing the breakfast buffet. This is despite claims of 24 hour room service. Taxi drivers confuse this place with Baiyoke Sky which luckily is a short distance away if you get dropped off there. The streets around the hotel are full of markets which are good fun. Watch out for the hotel taxi which will take you to the airport for at least three times the going rate.
Overall I would try for another place if I was in Bangkok again.

“OK for small budget”

Baiyoke Suite Hotel

Kuala Lumpur

The staff are all very friendly and polite. Full of young staff maning the reception. The room is a bit old though. Don't book the room facing the back of the hotel because there is a construction going on at railway track behind the hotel. The train goes on until midnight. Water pressure is a bit low though. Go for the Baiyoke Sky Hotel if you can afford it.

“Scratching furniture in a bazaar aria”

Baiyoke Suite Hotel

Dec 9, 2007
1/1 found this review helpful

Room
Is very big, almost 55 m2. But the furniture in the room is quite old, i think all the suit rooms was decorated over 7 years ago. Thats why the furniture is scratching and looks old.
There is only few (3) good TV channels + MTV :)

Bathroom
Its quite nice, there is a scale and good sanitary engineering. Possibly it was renewed not so far.

Reception
There is an opportunity to take a key from a safety box in the room. But if you lost the key you'ld have to pay more than 80 dollars.

Location
Just in the center of local bazaar. It's almost incredible to get to the enter by taxi because of all vendors near the hotel.

Resume
I hope I'ld never retern to that hotel.

“amazing baiyoke”

Baiyoke Suite Hotel

1 of 5 stars
manila, philippines
Dec 3, 2007

We stayed for five days and four nights. hotel is not nice as shown in the internet. the rooms are quite big but the carpets are old and dirty and so with the windows. bed is full of cockroaches and old too. no complimentary shampoo and tothbrush. bath towels smells like spicy curry. by the way what do you expect to a low budget hotel? the lobby of this hotel is on the fifth floor. Grounds are surrounded by stores selling all kinds of clothes. it is a busy street and beware of pick pocketers.
For me i'll never come back to this hotel anymore. there are a lot of hotels cheaper than this.
