“Much Much Better than Expected”

Century Park Hotel

Bangkok, Thailand: Century Park Hotel
Date: 10th - 16th April, 2008.
Reviewer: Trip Advisory, Sydney Australia
We spent 5 nights at the Century Park Hotel and I must say from the moment we walked in we received a very welcoming response. The service was great. We had been upgraded to a Junior Suite which had plenty of room and lets not forget to mention the bathroom which was very clean and plenty of room. We also had a delux room for the boys and it was also a great in size and up keep.

The buffet was breakfast was a feast of its own. The level 5 pool was fantastic - just what you needed after a hectic day of shopping and tours. Pool food a little on the expensive side.

The tour guide in the Hotel Foyer was very helpful when it came to booking tours and evening dining out at night.

When in Bangkok you must go to C&C Restaurant (Cabbages & Condoms) the food was fantastic and the overall design & ambience of the restaurant is unbelieveable. Took our 16 & 13 year boys there and it was the talking point of the trip when they came home.

I certainly would stay again at the Century Park Hotel !!!

“expected much more for the price...rooms are not four star”

Century Park Hotel

stayed four nights after previously staying the the siam city hotel witch was wonderful, paid almost double the price thinking we were getting a higher quality hotel, the Century Park Hotel is a three star rated hotel masquerading as a four star, yes the lobby is grand but on closer inspection is old and faded we could see damage from aging on some of the lobby's furniture, restaurants were fine, but nothing outstanding in quality of the food or the price. the big disappointment of this hotel for us was the old rundown basic rooms, they are clean however it looks like they have not been renovated for years, uncomfortable beds and lumpy pillows,no quilt just a blanket between two sheets, old fashioned air con could not control room temperature at night, it got hot then cool again every few hours, sleeping was almost impossible. we could see stains, scratches and other damage to the basic wooded table and chairs and most other furniture in the room due to it's age,the room safe looked like it had been home made back in the 1970's,however it did work. we had problems with noise from the adjoining room at night due to thin walls also some road noise form the busy intersecting roads close to the hotel, the pool was not overly large and always crowded. would suggest staying at the siam city hotel or other genuine four hotel in the nearby area.

“Great Value Hotel”

Century Park Hotel

Apr 25, 2008

We had a three nite stay at the beginning of our Thailand holiday and a one nite stay at the end of our trip and found the Century Park to be a great hotel in Bangkok.
The foyer is grand and the service at front desk was very efficient, professional and accommodating. We were able to leave excess luggage for two weeks to pick up on our return at the end of the trip and as we had a late night flight we were able to return in the afternoon for a shower before our taxi ride to the airport (Despite already having checked out).
Our room was more than adequate with a lovely marble bathroom and all the necessary provisions. Breakfast was excellent with a myriad of choices to get you through the day.
We were really happy with the location as it was only a ten minute walk to the skyrail and along the way there were many shops and stalls that kept you entertained and gave you a feel of the real Bangkok! The pool is lovely and a great way to have a short relax between site-seeing and shopping. The meals are delicious but a little on the pricy side for bangkok (which is to be expected at hotel restaurants).
Overall a great stay and would highly recommend!!
As an aside, make sure you try the Waffles at the Victory Monument skyrail station - they are truely delicious.

“Good Hotel, good value, reasonable location”

Century Park Hotel

We stayed at this hotel from 1st - 5th April 2008 on our stopover in Bangkok.

Hotel sits to the north east fo the city just off the main highway which leads to the airport. 5-10 minute walk from the skytrain and plenty of tuk-tuks and taxi's available outside.

We stayed in room 1633, great views over the city, good sized room, bathroom has bath and seperate shower and all kept clean and tidy.

Pool area is a good rest stop - not many beds but there were never that many people around.

Never used the bars etc in the hotel but breakfast was ok and set us up for the day.

For your taxi from the airport - make sure they turn on the meter or if they don't you should not pay anymore than 300B unless traffic is really bad.

Dont use the taxi/ tuk-tuk parked ont epavement outside the hotel - charge a lot more than other taxi's flagged int he street.

We used taxi's to get about - traffic didnt seem too bad. Fares are cheap as long as you get them to turn the meter on - 70-80B to Khoa San Road/ Grand Palace etc and similar to Patpong area.

All in all a good stay and hotel served its purpose.

“Good Tourist Hotel - Nice Pool for Relaxing after Being in City!”

Century Park Hotel

4 of 5 stars

We stayed at the Century Park in Jan 2008, on the first part of a multi centre holiday to Thailand.

The hotel was easy to get to from the airport, took about 45 mins, reception check in was smooth and even though we arrived early in the morning, after a quick drink, we were told our room was ready. This was a relief after being very tired after flying for hours!

Our room had a great view over the city, it was great fun just watching all the traffic which was busy 24 hours a day. The room had everything you needed, nice comfy beds, TV, safe, lovely bathroom.

We used the skytrain to get around the city, this was a walk down the road opposite the hotel, sometimes as it was so humid this could get a bit hot but it wasn't too bad, we felt very safe at night doing this. The road passes lots of little shops to stock up on drinks and nibbles for your room.

If you don't feel like walking anywhere you can get a taxi from the hotel, Bangkok taxis are great value and you can use one all day to take you from attraction to attraction, they are air conditioned too which is good.

Another good thing at this hotel is the pool area, after a long day sightseeing its nice to relax around the pool and watch the sunset over the city.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for tourists/business travellers, one downside is its a bit out of the city, but with all the transport links this doesn't really matter.
