“Reservations are meaningless”

Be advised that having a confirmed reservation at this hotel does not mean you will stay here.
I booked a room more than a month in advance and confirmed two days ahead of time. They confirmed and asked what time I would arrive. I said 7:30 or 8:00. arrived at 7:30 on the nose. They said we have no rooms.
I said "That's ok. I have a reservation."
Them, "I understand. You have a reservation. But we have no rooms."
My attempts at explaining to them what a reservation is were fruitless. They put me in a cab to another hotel which was in an abysmal location.
Can't comment on the rooms. Didn't see one.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in Bangkok since it was close to a friend's house. I have stayed in cheap and 5 star hotels and this hotel was very acceptable with nice smiling staff and excellent location.
It had a 24 hour coffeeshop that was buzzing late into the night.
I enjoyed my stay but recommend it for adults only and not for families with children.
If you're looking for a cheap clean place to crash in Bangkok, Malaysia Hotel is the place to be.
