“Basic Hotel on Par With Rest Of Thailand but Staff is not Honest”

Convenient Resort

In reading the rest of the reviews I think some folks didn't know what to expect in Thailand especially in the 1000 baht price range. A bathroom that doubles as the shower room is common as are on demand hot water heaters and firm mattresses. There is nothing sexy about this hotel but it was a convenient stop over on our way out of Thailand.

My quip is with the airport transfer service and the in accurate information received from the staff and their unwillingness to live up to the information given. When I saw the Convenient Resort sign held by a gentleman as we exited baggage claim, I went to ask if the shuttle was free. He said yes. I asked if it was free round trip and again he agreed. He had me find my reservation on his sheet and after waiting about 5 minutes the van was there to take us to the airport.

When we got to the hotel they informed us that my rate only included free breakfast but no transfers. Using the same sheet that I saw at the airport she was able to show me this. So the man at the airport had the same information but failed to answer my question correctly. The reception was unwilling to stand by what the man told me. Their service was convenient and fast but the main problem is the 150 baht they charge for what would be no more than 50 baht in a meter taxi (all the way to the left as you exit the terminal). I would have taken a meter taxi on the trip from the airport to the hotel but probably would have paid the extra 100 baht in the morning for the convenience of the hotel's nice Volvo cars that are waiting to take you to the airport. So my main beef is that they (knowingly I suspect) give incorrect information so that their guests can't make an informed choice about whether to use their convenient but expensive service.

“Great Airport Stopover”

Convenient Resort

Feb 19, 2008

We used this hotel for one night literally for a stopover between flights. For £14 it was a bargain.

The room was really clean, with good decor, coffee making facilities and tv. It was only about 10 mins from the airport and the hotel run an hourly shuttle for 150 Baht (about £2.25).

Someone we know recommended the Novotel hotel situated next to the airport for our overnight stay and I am so glad we didn't stay there (they charge £80 a night for a budget room).

During my stay, I contracted food poisoning (not from anything I ate in the hotel but from a previous place in Southern Thailand) and the staff bent over backwards to help me. They arranged transport to the local hospital and delayed my checkout time.

I would definitely stay here again when stopping over in Bangkok, and would recommend anyone else to do the same. Just don't stay here if you are staying in Bangkok as a tourist because it is miles away from the centre.

I paid 1500B/night because i have no reservation.

There is nothing worth the price i paid, the room is big but beds was not comfortable, noisy a/c and can not use balcony as it was dirty and dusty.

The bathroom is totally weird as there is no separation/curtain for shower so when you take shower everything... I mean everything in the bathroom is totally wet! And pls be careful with super slippery bathroom floor.

Front office barely speak english, the free transfer driver was not polite at all.

So please do not stay here unless you have to or you'll stuck in middle of nowhere with nothing to do, regretting everything.

“Find Another Hotel if you want to sleep”

Convenient Resort

Jan 20, 2008

The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport and provides shuttle/van service from the airport. The van takes you to the old hotel to check in and then the new hotel where you actually stay. The new hotel does not have any elevators, so walking up 3 flights of stairs to the 4th floor with luggage is not very pleasant. The room itself is clean and relatively new. The bathroom is small and does not have a separate shower. You basically shower next to the toilet. The WORST part were the stray dogs barking all night.

To get back to the airport from the hotel, you need to pay 100 Baht for the van; however, it is cheaper and easier to simply take a taxi; however, be prepared to pay the hotel clerk 20 baht for calling the taxi.

Bottom line: the hotel is really CHEAP and there is a reason it is really CHEAP. I would not stay there again nor could I recommend it for anyone who needs to get some sleep; however, I would recommend it if you just need to take a shower and change clothes.

“Good clean cheap hotel”

Convenient Resort

Hertfordshire

This hotel is great for the price if you're looking for something near the airport. Rooms are clean and they have a cheap airport transfer.

Only problems were our room backed onto the river, there were many mosquitos in our room when we arrived as the area between the bathroom and bedroom had an open slated window which you couldnt shut. You can shut the bedroom door though to stop more getting in. Also there was a temple the other side of the river which played loud music which woke us up at 5am!! Luckily we had to get up early anyway to leave for the airport!
