“Great Value”

Grand Millennium Sukhumvit

A very nice hotel in a great location. It has not been open for very long which may explain why the price is so much cheaper than other hotels of the same class.

The room comes complete with everything you need, include S-Video/USB connections to allow you to use the flat screen TV as the display for your laptop.

Bathroom is behind glass walls in the middle of the room- pretty cool and very romantic. But you can draw down the shades if you want some privacy. The location is a block away from the SkyTrain and the Subway.

There are a variety of restaurants, which all seemed pretty good, the two I ate in were great. A spa is located on the 7th floor and until the end of March all the services are 50% off. There is a pool of course and even a putting green on the roof, though I never saw it.

A previous reviewer noted some problems in the finishing of the rooms and sure enough there were a few nobs that fell off on the doors. They need to go through each room and check everything over or in a few years it may look like its falling apart. But for now it rates an excellent for its great value for money in a good location. Treat yourself in Bangkok and stay here, you won't regret it.

“Great bargain”

The hotel has been open for only a few months, so nothing's worn; everything's in new condition. However, if I were the owner of the hotel I'd be suing the builder. There are too many little things that aren't quite right. For example, the cold water tap handle kept falling into the sink, one of the electrical boxes wasn't properly installed in the wall, and the little knob on the handle of the commode door fell off. The hot water tap handle was on the left side for the sink and the right side for the tub. Strange. On the plus side, when we mentioned the problem of the tap handle falling into the sink, someone repaired it immediately. When we had trouble getting onto the internet, an IT person was at our door in less than five minutes, and fixed the problem. These little problems in no way diminished our stay there. As I said, it's more of a concern to the corporate owner of the hotel to have received such shoddy finishing touches. Hopefully, all the many little problems will be repaired in time.

We paid $120 for a "deluxe" double room. Quite a bargain, even in inexpensive Thailand.

The staff was efficient, professional, and exceedingly helpful. Where do they find all those beautiful waitresses? The free breakfasts were great. A wide variety of very good food. We never ate lunch after those breakfasts, they were so good. The gym was superb. The swimming pool not so great. Just not appealing. The hotel's location across from the skytrain and next to the subway was extremely useful in getting around Bangkok.

I thought the charge of 150 baht to scan one page, and then another 150 baht to email it to myself -- a total of two minutes time of the attendant in the "business center" -- was excessive. So, if I had a 100 page document to scan, they would have charged me $450? I guess I'm just a cheapskate.

Overall, a really nice hotel and we had a great stay.

“Bossa at Breakfast”

I have never visited the hotel so I was a little apprehensive but it was Chinese New Year and I was booking at the last min. so I couldn't be choosy. The hotel is stylish without trying to hard. The breakfast is amazing and the service is so good. It is very cool what with the bossa nova and wonderful choices. The room is very nice with flat screen and personal bedroom lights that allow one to read without waking the spouse. But for me, the concierge is the single most important factor and I felt the concierge to be able to help with anything I asked. Overall the service was extrememly friendly and effecient. I even left the safe in our room open once and security was called and closed it for me. I liked the hotel and the service very much. I used ratestogo, com to get a much better rate than I could have gotten even by contacting the hotel directly. On the downside Laundry services are very expensive at the hotel and there isn't much in a 5 min. vecinity in terms of laundry mat or restaurants. And the pool is ismall and only gets sun in the morning.

“Excellent Service, Best Bed in Bangkok Sleek Hotel”

Grand Millennium Sukhumvit

Stayed 3 nights in the New Millennium Sukhumvit from 9Jan to 12 Jan 2008, saw this new hotel flashing and caught everyone's attention from Westin on previous stay. Booked a Club Room on hotel website, was given Room 2707 on top floor , excellent room (about 35 Sqm )with brand new carpet, very soft feel! (see picture) The room picture may look a bit cramped but thats due to lack of wide angle lens on the camera, it is actually quite spacious, but not as spacious as Sheraton or Westin Grande Sukhumvit. (42Sqm)

Club Room have exact same size to Deluxe room but include access to Club Lounge of course.

There was a problem with the hot water system during shower. Went to the club lounge on 24/F met with the duty manager, kindly given a upgrade to Suite room 1420 for the whole stay.

The Club lounge offer 10 choices of canapes and dessert during 6-8pm with free cocktails/wines/drinks. Very few guest visited the lounge during my stay. It also have 2 internet browsing stations and a good library with many tourist books of Thailand. Due to the low no. of guest in Club Lounge, you will get very attentive service by the lounge attendant. Club Lounge resembles Langham Place in Hong Kong to me but bigger in size!

Club Suite 1420 is a typical suite with 2 bathroom and 1 living room + 1 ensuite bedroom with separate wardrobes. Everything is brand new there. The BEST thing is the bed in this hotel. It is very soft with extra padding underneath makes one feel like sleeping on a feather bed ! This is better than Westin Heaven Bed or any other 5* hotel bed I have slept with. Personally I don't like hard bedding.

Hotel offer decent amount of new technology with a S-video, Ipod input to the TV Stereo-system. Although it is lacking DVD player. On facility side, It has a Golf Green practice field, Conservatory on 15 floor, excellent spa (with 50% off opening price) and very good looking pool deck. This hotel sure offer a lot of style and makes you feel like a rock star! One of the best value for Bangkok. Definity potential to become hottest hotel in Bangkok.

“Overstyled and a bit tacky”

Grand Millennium Sukhumvit

Jan 28, 2008

This hotel is very new and one really cant complain too much (especially with the good room rates they are offering). However, I dont really like the style of the hotel - it is trying very hard to look stylish and expensive, however it isnt very well put together and the execution is average at best. For a hotel thats only a few months old it already feels like it has been open for years. The rooms are very over-styled and I think a little tacky. The corridors have so many mirrors and garish carpet that I actually lost my balance walking to my room. But look, the hotel is clean and very comfortable, so like I said, one shouldnt complain too much
