It's hard to find fault with this hotel - although I wouldn't rate it as the #2 hotel in Chiang Mai.
We stayed for 3 nights, were there partly on business, and were already pretty familiar with the city, so really had no special requests from the hotel. But the staff were always courteous and pleasant. The pool area seemed very nice, and so tranquil. Our deluxe room was quiet, clean and comfortable, if maybe a little bland and lacking in style.
I personally like the location of Rimping Village very much. It's easy to get a tuk tuk by walking one block down the narrow soi towards the river. One block in the opposite direction is a very good small Thai restaurant. There's also a large supermarket and several other restaurants within walking distance.
