We had our honeymoon here in the first two weeks of April 2008. It was fantastic. They set up the honeymoon suite with petals on the bed and even made us a honeymoon cake! The staff were all really friendly and the hotel immaculately clean. Definately on the best & cleanest bit of Chaweng beach, great for families. We ate in many different restaurants & hotels, but the best meal by far was in the Chaba Cabana's own restaurant. It was a really short transfer journey too, which was nice after such a long flight from the UK. Brilliant place-Highly recommend it!

We've just come back from a 2 week holiday at the Chaba Cabana and had a fab time.
The staff were all friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Unlike previous reviewers, we had no problems with the pool staff and found them all very friendly and helpful. A smile goes a long way and if you were nice and polite to them, then you got that and more back again.
Didn't use the small pool and didn't see anyone else in there either, but the large pool was always clean and busy.
Ate a few times in the restaurant in the evening and the food was good and reasonably priced. We tended to wander down the beach or get the courtesy bus laid on by the hotel into Chaweng and eat there. Most meals cost us around 150-250 baht with drinks on top. Chang beer was what we tended to drink as wine is around 160 baht a glass, but during happy hour at the hotel the beers and glasses of wine were 3 for the price of 2 and the cocktails were buy one get one free.
The guests tended to be couples, but our friends took their two children and they had a great time.
I would definitely recommend the hotel to others. It is at the northern end of Chaweng beach, but we found that to be beneficial as it meant we got less people selling things at that end of the beach and it was also quieter. There were plenty of restaurants within a short walk of the hotel and the hotel laid on transport to/from Chaweng twice a day so it was easy to go further out for dinner, with the taxi ride back around 200 baht.
The hotel also hire out cars for 1000 baht a day which we made use of twice. They advise you to book in advance, but on both occassions we asked at reception on the day and had a small jeep within 5 mins.
We certainly enjoyed our stay at the Chaba Cabana resort.

This hotel was such a surprise we booked it all last minute for new Year so didnt expect much. I have travelled alot and this is by far one of the nicest hotels I have vistited. It is the whole atmosphere that makes this hotel. It is a good 15minute to the hub of samui and i am only in my 20s but loved being a little bit waya from all the noise and bussiness. It was at the end of the beach so you didnt get bombraded with sellers, the picture don't do it any justice it was like something out of an advert, the rooms were grtea, flat screen tv etc and the staff were so genuinly helpfull. An example they saw I has tiger balm at Brekfast one day so they immediatly sprayed my room for mossies. I am going back this year and can't recomend it enough!

My wife, daughter and I stayed at Chaba in mid to late February and was our first visit to Thailand.
We found all the staff from reception, pool bar, cleaning and resteraunt to be always helpful, smiling and attentive.
Really found by observation that those guests that treated the staff with disdain were not afforded the level of service that those guests that treated the staff with respect enjoyed
Meals at the C-Front, breakfast was always good but dinners while nice were expensive.
Pool lounges are always in short supply but the game of grabbing one early was always fun to get the best spot. And determining those in the sun or part shade.
Small pool outside reception was never used and a bit in need of a clean, big pool was great.
rooms were adequate considering that after breakfast they were not seen again till getting dressed for dinner and then later bed.
Cupboard space is at a premium as previously mentioned.
Seems to be the only resort on North Chaweng beach that gets the late afternoon sun. beach was clean as was the pool. take your pick right throught he day pool or beach.
While not part of Chaba the beach vendor with his freshly cooked corn and mango or pineapple freshly peeled and chopped for lunch was always good.
