We spent 7 nights at the Andaman Seaview at Karon Beach in March after 3 nights in Bangkok. Having been recommended to go to Karon as a resort, we chose this hotel based on the favourable reviews seen on Tripadvisor. We weren't disappointed.

We were greeted on arrival by helpful staff and a much appreciated glass of juice and a cold towel, before being shown to our room. The luggage followed shortly. Our room was a superior room on the ground floor, which meant we had a small terrace next to the children's pool. The room was spacious with a double bed and a single bed, tv (with many cable channels), large wardrobe (including free safe), mini-bar (expensive compared with local shops) and tea and coffee facilities. The hotel also provide two complimentary bottles of water per day. The bathroom was also spacious including bath and separate shower. Hotel also provides a beach bag with towels (changed daily) which is a nice touch.

Breakfast was excellent and included many choices of food. We did not eat dinner in the hotel as there are many restaurants in Karon and Kata to try, but we did use room service for lunch a few times (as we had a room with a terrace). This was ok, but the food wasn't very warm on a couple of occasions and the waiters were not as pleasant as the rest of the hotel staff. Restaurants: we liked Old Siam (Thai food only) and Karon Cafe in Karon and Two Chefs in Kata. Make sure you have a cocktail at Mom Tri's Boathouse in Kata as it is right on the beach and is a great place to watch the sunset (also half-price cocktails between 1700 and 1900)!

The hotel has two nice freshwater pools and other facilities include a spa, a gym and internet access.

Overall, we would certainly recommend the Andaman Seaview as a hotel to stay in at Karon Beach!

P.S. We can also recommend the tours to the Phi-Phi Islands and James Bond Island as these are great days out.

The Andaman Seaview is well located, just across the road from the beach and a short walk to restaurants, shops and massage places.

We stayed in a superior room on the second floor, overlooking the kids' pool. The room itself was comfortable - no complaints from me, although my boyfriend who spent more time in the room due to illness thought it could have done with an update. The facilities at the hotel were good, we enjoyed hanging out by the pool. Breakfast offers a good but not great variety (we probably spoiled by the awesome breakfasts at the Sheraton in Bangkok!). The poolside restaurant was a good spot for lunch when we didn't want to leave the hotel.

The beach bags with towels are a nice touch. We checked out early on our last day, but were told we could use the spa facilities to shower before our evening flight home which was nice.

Overall, the staff were friendly, the hotel was well priced and well located.

Probably one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in for 2 weeks. Service and food where outstanding! Had a suite for max. 5 persons, with a rather strange "bed-arrangement"... On one side of a wall that only went half way through the room, there where 2 double beds, on the other side of the wall ( living room part) there was a single bed behind the main door.. These suites may fit better for 2 liberal adult pairs than for parents with 2 children.

We spent almost 2 weeks in the Andaman Seaview and we certainly didn't regret our choice! The spacious rooms have been decorated in a very stylish way ( kind of mediterranian). Especially the bathroom is very nice, providing a shower, a separate bathtub and a connecting shutter-window to the main room.

The breakfast was truely the best during our holiday and offered many choices. Nevertheless we didn't check out the hotel restaurant for dinner due to the numerous alternatives just outside (the most exlusive choice was "On the Rock" belonging to the marina resort).

As a kind of special service the hotel offers free beach towels in a bag which are also changed on a daily base (if you like).
From our point of view the biggest plus was the short walking distance to the beach.

If you don't consider yourself an early bird, you might face a problem with what we refered to as "noisewagons", that is, starting 9am there's a lot of noise on the floor caused by housekeeping activities and even if you're capable of ignoring them, be prepared for wakeup calls you didn't order.

There's also a rather expensive inhouse laundry service available, but we preferred the friendly laundry family right behind the hotel.

In short, we pretty much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to everyone (unless you want to heavily party, but in this case you would probably prefer Patong anyway).
