The Sino Hotel is a simple but clean place. The room features a small fridge, a dining table for two, a small kitchen-sink with basic cutlery for two. A new water boiler was also available. The walls are disappointingly bare, perhaps some art-work could add extra-character, and if anything help alleviate the echo in the room. The noisy AC does not help either, though it does keep the room at a pleasant temperature.

The television has a few channels in English, including a 24/hr movie channel, and BBC news.

The room is spacious, as advertised - and the queen size bed we had was decent.

However, contrary to its advertising, it is not anywhere near the beach! The journey by Tuk tuk to the famous Patong beach is a good thirty minutes. The Tuk Tuk will cost between 300-500 Baht each way, although you can reduce the cost of the trip by stopping at one of the heavily advertised sites (such at shops, a shooting-range, and ATV off-road adventure), as the shops will pay the driver a commission for dropping off tourists. Considering the cost of getting to the beach, it may actually be worth it to spend a bit more on a hotel that enjoys a closer proximity to your preferred beach. Phuket City, the location of the hotel, features little other then other hotels, and a few restaurants.

Generally speaking, the hotel is not bad value for money in itself, but the location is not great. For us the only reason to be in Phuket city was the hotel, everything else from beach-visits, dinner, to nightlife all took place a good commute away from Phuket City, which is rather uninteresting.

The Sino House is a nice mid-priced hotel in Phuket City. The rooms are almost too modern styled. It took me a while to get used to the bowl sink with a high faucet. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable.

The location is near the main bus station so you can walk there with your bags. A good bookstore and the Lemongrass restaurant are also nearby.

Spend a few days here before moving on by bus or boat. Phuket City has interesting old buildings and great restaurants. Definitely have lunch in the China Inn Cafe.

This is a wonderful hotel, and I stay here every time I am in Phuket. Living and working as a volunteer about 1 1/2 hours away, I look for any excuse I can find to hop on the bus where an air-conditioned oasis awaits at the Sino House.
The style and atmosphere are soothing and serene, the staff are friendly and will try to accommodate most any request (even if it means helping me with an internet connection problem well into the evening until the problem was fixed).
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Raintree Spa, which is right next door is unbelievable... soothing for the soul both in services and ambiance.
A lot of character and charm, and great quality for a reasonable price! I highly recommend the Sino House, you won't be disappointed!

I booked my room from latestays.com , and it cost only 2000 baht / night during the peak (christmas) season of 2006.

The hotel was very pleasant. Clean, recently furnished rooms with lots of space. Breakfast was served to the room, and it only contained some pastries and a drink. There were over 40 tv-channels, including movie channels. The hotel is located near the shopping centres and the bus station.
