“Nothing special but adequate”

Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon

Big "corporate" hotel. Great view over the river form our room but that's the best thing about it. Lifts are slow, food is fine but limited range, room was adequate but on small side. Good location and staff are friendly but expensive for what it is.

I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2008. There is nothing I can fault this place on. I guess my room HAD been updated as it was fantastic, and I cannot see what other reviewers have to gripe about. The level of service was impeccable and friendly. It even tops Bangkok and that says something. The rooms were large and well kept with every amenity, and everthing working!! Good HBO/Cinemax/Star movies, nice clean bathroom, rooms serviced TWICE a day, lovely lobby with an orchestra playing in the evenings, and a nice (albeit small) rooftop pool. If you don't like heights book a lower room. This is an atrium type hotel and from the 14th floor over the edge is slightly unnerving!
Great views over the Saigon river and the city from the pool area, and a good varied breakfast. OK it was $15 per person but any Marriott in the UK will charge double that. Buffalo tours in the Lobby lounge were efficient and can be recommended. We took two trips with them and they were very professional and on time. The guys in the lobby were great, especially Vu who could,nt do enough to help. Great locale if you know where you are walking. The first night I had not a clue but two blocks to the side of the hotel and you are in the main tourist area of HCMC. A wonderful hotel in a terrific city, and up there with they best stays I have had. Highly recommended on all fronts.

“Very nice hotel”

Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon

Apr 10, 2008

Stayed here 2 nights while on business. It is in a central location with a nice view of the river. It was a bit loud even on the 19th floor. The staff was very friendly and service was prompt. Internet access was expensive.

“Good location”

We stayed 1 night at the Renaissance Riverside hotel. The location is very good, walking distance to the "centre" of Saigon where shops and resaurants are. Safe neighbourhood as we walked around there at midnight. The hotel is really nice. Friendly staff, speaking English well and helpful arranging cabs, tips for things to do, etc. Check in went smoothly, even we arrived in the morning already, a room was allocated to us. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Nothing that trendy or spectacular, but good. We used our points for this hotel and so stayed for "free", but I believe when booking normally, it is about 150US. The breakfast is very good in a nice location where you can see the world go by from the large windows. Breakfast selection is good, lots of Vietnamese food and also western breakfast items. The breakfast is 12 USD pp. I would for sure recommend this hotel, when staying in HCMC and exploring the city.
