I stayed in this hotel for nearly two weeks in April 2007. Overall, very good stay. Although the service can be spotty, most of the staff are very well trained. Mr. Imram at the Chit Chat deli provides fast, efficient, and friendly service while one of the concierges was gruff, unfriendly, and incompetent. For the most part though, friendly staff who get the job done. The food is excellent, albeit very expensive. Dinner and breakfast buffets are great with a wide selection of international dishes, salads, and desserts. Rooms are clean; one small complaint is all the towels are soft as sandpaper. . .clean and fresh, just very rough. Contrary to a previous poster, I found the security very reassuring, not stifling. In Bangladesh, it's nice to have the extra security staff around. With only a few adjustments, this hotel could really be world class. Larger TVs, softer towels, and consistent professional service would make it perfect. All things considered, a positive experience at a fine hotel.
