I stayed at Last Home for a month and a half of my time in Phnom Penh. I chose it for the reasonable long-term discount that I was able to work out over the phone with the manager. It's location is good for those who don't like the hustle and bustle on the riverfront. I ate most of my meals at the restaurant on the bottom floor because the food was delicious. The manager and her family make up a majority of the staff and they are very trustworthy. I found that I could always ask them for help if I ever needed anything. They helped with SIM cards, visa extensions, and bus transportation.
My room was on the second floor and the bathroom had a good-sized open air hole in the wall. The ceiling was peeling due to water damage and the shower head had no cradle. The manager did offer to put a cradle in the wall. Although the bathroom had hot water, the water pressure in my bathroom was nil. Also, when the weather was hot, the bathroom stunk of sewage. The bedroom itself was nice and spacious. I had windows that faced the hallway. Water did tend to leak out from some unknown source along where the floor met the wall, but I'm not sure where this water came from. The manager tried her best to solve the stinky bathroom problem and look into the water leaking, but this seemed to be a problem in many of the rooms. The cheapest rooms had no ac and the more expensive rooms had fridges. I really liked the balconies on the 2nd and 3rd floor because they were calm places for reading and observing Phnom Penh life. The guest house gets filled up easily, so book ahead. I booked by phone a month in advance and confirmed a few days before arriving. Also, try to view the room before agreeing to stay in it, especially if you'll be there long-term. Overall, it's a reasonable accommodation for very reasonable prices.
