I stayed at the Tonle Hotel for two nights during July 2005. It was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Phnom Penh. I didn't find it on the Internet. It is located on the river, Preah Sisowath Quay, in the heart of things. My room was huge, probably the largest I've stayed in anywhere, and nicely furnished; the bathroom well-appointed. For a country like Cambodia (I live in Bangkok and have been to Cambodia before), the Tonle Hotel is well above average. The staff is friendly. Breakfast is included, but don't expect too much. It is definitely worth the extra US$10 it charges for a river-view room. The Tonle is a small, apparently new, "boutique" hotel. I would stay there again without any hesitation. The Tonle can be reached via e-mail at -----. Before I made a reservation, I asked the hotel to e-mail me pictures, which it did.
